I have been trying to set up the Ricoh 1224C on my Mac OSx 10.4.11 network. I am unable to find the scanrouter v2 admin utility for mac. Is there any way for me to access/update the destination list and assign a document server? I have been able to access the ricoh through the web browser (by entering the local ip address of the ricoh) but I don't know how to make the changes.

this is an older model copier, however try going to www.savin.com and click downloads then drivers. there will be a tab for drivers, this is 10.5 though not snow leopard. Ricoh/Savin/gestetner and Lanier are all the same copier, but savin site has more mac info than Ricoh site. Usually I have better luck using already installed Mac drivers than Gutenprint, if you type in the ip it should give you a list of preinstalled Mac drivers. I believe the Ricoh 1018 corresponds to a Savin 2518 if that helps. Also use print daemon, not ipp. hope this helps somewhat as Macs are difficult with options and such on most printers. also must use PS3 for best results.
Your machine requires the Postscript option installed in order to print from your Mac. The printer is printing gibberish because it cannot understand the postscript driver from the Mac. .
First, it doesn't work on Vista, if you have upgraded you OS??
So, have all of the destinations disappeared off the display?, and "updating destination list has failed' message displays" (or something similar). If this is the case........ have you tried going into the "Scanrouter V2 admin utility", and under the "server" button select "set I/O device", then select "remove". If you are asked to "retain settings" select "no". Then click "add", then "Browse", it should find the machine, select "ok" then name it whatever you want -it's for identification only This helps when (for some reason) the machine has become disasscociated with the Ip address for lack of a better description -particularily if the software is not installed on a machine with a statc IP. OTHERWISE Do the destinations still appear but the scans do not reach their destination even though they appear to be sent? This happens when the Windows login password has been changed, because Scanrouter is linked to the admin password. The way to tell is if you click to open the "Scanrouter V2 admin Utility", and get a message pertaining to a "wrong password" or similar. - Enter the NEW windows login password OR Has windows Firewall been enabled? TCP port #3670 needs to be opened
Please let me know if any of these solutions help, and Please rate me :)
Scanrouter will work just fine on a standalone PC- just set a static IP to make it more reliable. I've set up dozens of machines on single PC's and peer to peer groups. It's very tricky to configure if you've not done it before, and it's getting a little difficult to find if you don't have a copy of it.
Okay, this is what worked for me...
1) Remove the printer from your printers by going to System Preferences, then click on Print and Fax. Highlight the printer and click the "minus" button below it to remove the printer.
2) Reset your printer by restoring it to factory settings. On my printer, you would do that by turning off the printer, wait a few seconds, hold down the two buttons on top of the printer, turn on the printer, then continue holding the buttons until the red "Alert" light begins to flash. Then let go. The printer will reset itself and then start back up again.
3) Go back to System Preferences and hit the "plus" button to add the printer. When the next windows opens, make sure the "Default" button is highlighted and wait about 15 seconds for your printer to show up.
4) Highlight the printer, DON'T CHANGE THE NAME IN THE TEXT BOX, make sure the proper "Print using" driver is selected, then click "Add."
5) That should add the printer as your default printer. Just make sure you don't change the name of the printer either in Leopard or by going into your printer's configuration utility. Everything needs to remain as default!
With this printer, I used to try to change the name of the printer when I was setting it up to something more familiar like "Network Color Laser Printer" or something like that, but after about two days of working, it would suddenly not work printing from my Mac anymore (although the Windows computers could print to it without a problem). Now, after leaving everything with its default name, my Mac always connects to the printer.
Anyway, just try it out-- what have you got to lose?
