Av mode? can i get into av mode without the remote?

Without a remote control, you can't select its inputs. To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.

Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops. Visit some online sites too, which deals with electronic spare parts.

Some older tv's you need the remote to switch the input mode,
most tv's your can simply go threw the chanel up and down and av Will be in between channels? Hope this helps?

Yes, you change your channel to '00' or go up to '101' and then press up button on tv then it will automatically comes to '00'

Here is a manual for that tv. Page 27 says to push the tv/video button but that is on the remote. Do you have a tv/video button on the tv itself? If so, push it until it cycles through to the video input you want

Without remote control you can't change its mode to AV. Buy one "Atlas OCAP 5-device remote control; by Universal Electronics. Emerson is listed to very short numbers of universal remotes, and this is one amoung them. The codes will be with the attached manual, and you can choose if from it. OK.

If you cannot reach the AV input mode by scrolling through the channel up down, nor is there is a source or TV/AV button on the set it self, then the news is bad I am sorry. You will need the remote to get AV inputs on this set.
You can get a new remote for the set from here for $1995. Plus postage. Note that it has the TV/AV button.

Look for a button named AV or Input or something of the like. Press the button to toggle between different video modes such as AV, TV, S-Video etc.,

try going to channel 00, or look for the "aux" or "input" button on the tv. if anything you can get a universal remote control.
