After booting always to F1

The F1 key is often a notice that something is not right in the part of the computer that runs before the operating system (i.e. Windows). What is wrong is usually displayed in the rest of the message. It might be that your "floppy" drive is not working (you may not even have one), or that the "date and time" are not set, or that the chip that sets up your system before Windows starts has been reset to incorrect settings for your configuration.

On most systems there is a key you need to push, usually the DEL key, as the system first starts. (It may also be the F10, F2 or F1) Push that key several times...about 1 time a second...as you start the system. This should take you to the BIOS screen (BIOS being the name of the chip that runs everything before Windows takes over). In there you can look at the date and time...if they are not current, or close to current, your BIOS chip has a problem. If they are current, if you restart and carefully read the message that came up with the F1 key you will know where to look in the BIOS to fix the setting.

If the date and time are not correct you need to have the CMOS battery replaced. This is not the main laptop battery, but the little watch battery used to keep the date and time (and other settings needed) when you have shut the system off and/or disconnected the larger laptop battery.

If it's this problem...the time and date wrong...you will probably want to take it into a shop and have them change the battery. The little CMOS battery is only a few dollars (under $10) and the labor should be reasonable if that's all that is needed.

Keeps saying error when trying to sighn in to online

PS# Error 80023017

Following on from the PS3 3.50 firmware update today, we have started to hear of owners having problems logging on to their accounts.

We have heard of PS3 owners who have updated their system complaining that they cannot sign in, and every time they enter their password are getting the wrong password message. We have had customers who have two PSN accounts and cannot log into either of them. They are met with wrong password message, and even when they use "Forgot your Password" all that comes up is an error.

Conrad Zimmerman of Destructtoid is reporting that PSN is going to have some scheduled maintenance today. This could be why users are complaining of problems logging on to their accounts.

The maintenance is expected to take place during 8 am until 5pm Pacific time. There will be a lot of users who are at work during this time so it will not be a problem for them, but for everyone else it will be somewhat of an annoyance.

Broken ps3

Ok, plug in your controller and press the little PS button in the middle of the controller. Then it will prompt you to do a set-up. Choose your system language, then set the date and time. Next it will ask you to set up your newwork configuration so you can go online. You can cancel this and do it later under system settings. Now the XMB should show up, which is the main menu. All you have to do now is pop in a game or movie and enjoy. If you have any further questions or problmes, feel free to ask me. Good luck and happy gaming!!

Powershot A720 Date Function

Do you want date/time stamp?

If so, you will have to be in postcard resolution.
To achieve this you will put your camera in shooting mode, hit function/set button, arrow down to bottom left corner where you will see L, M, S and postcard modes. Select the one that looks like a postcard.

Hit function/set to get out of there. Now hit menu and go to setup menu (tools) and arrow down to date stamp and make sure it's on date and time.

images shot in this resolution will look good as 4x6 prints, but should not be printed any larger or they will look pixelated, not good quality for larger prints.

Either that or you can add date and time in the Zoombrowser program that came with your camera should you need larger prints with date/time stamp.

I hope this helps!
