Hi make sure the dvd player is switched on the on then make sure the leads are fitted correctly from the dvd player to the telly then get the telly remote and find the av button or the source button or a button with a small picture of a rectangle with an arrow running from left to right once you have found this button press it once then wait about 10 sec if you cant see the picture from the dvd press it again it all depends on how many inputs the telly has to how many times you may need to press it, if after doing this it still dont work then double check the leads and try again.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

What channel does your television have to be on to watch through your DVD player.

It depends on the type and age of your TV. Most older units work on either channel 3 or 4. You may also have a switch on the DVD player that allows you to chose channel 3 or 4.

Most newer units have an "input" selection that allows you to select the signal you want to receive such as, DVD, Video Game, Cable, TV, etc. My newest DVD player only comes with a HDMI cable that goes to my TV and automatically switches when playing.

A lot of options depending upon the model and age of your equipment.

I had DVD player hooked up to watch movies, I was trying to set a universal remote because I do not have one already. When I couldn't get the remote to work I pushed Menu on the front of the tv, chose...

Perhaps your dvd player output is set for channel 3 so you have to select that channel for the dvd player to play on your tv. Some older analog tvs have a separate input for dvd on the back or front. In that case you have to select that setting from the tv menu

What channel do I set my TV to in order to play a DVDdisc?

Assuming your DVD player is properly connected to the video and audio inputs of the TV, you should be able to press the "input select" button on the remote and toggle between TV and DVD. A copy of your manual is here: http://www.emersonaudiovideo.com/pdf/manual/CR202EM9.pdf

DVD Player Only Produces Snow After Power Outage. Halp!

Sounds like your TV has lost the DVD channel. Turn off TV and make sure the DVD player is connected to TV and is playing a DVD. Now put you TV on and press the SOURCE or AV button on your TV remote until you can see the DVD channel. In older TVs you may need select channel and tune it manually using the TV setup.

Emerson VCR/DVD player - can't get tv (cable tv) to play anymore

I have the same problem with my Emerson VCR. When the ADD button is flashing, just press the menu button to exit the menu. It will add. That's the only thing I know to do. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Video channel

if your DVD player supports a HDMI cable a single cable is enough for both audio and video channel.

but both your player and TV must support HDMI.

Sony SLV-D350P DVD/Video cassette Player

I have the manual. Are you trying to record something live? if so:

1) Turn on both the DVD/VCR and your TV.
2) Switch the input selector on your TV so that the signal from the player appears on the TV screen (this is usually something like 'input 1' or 'line 1' and so forth)
3) On your remote, set TV/DVD-VIDEO to DVD-Video, then press SELECT VIDEO to control the VCR. These buttons are at the upper left hand corner of the remote controller.
4) To record from a cable box, turn it on.
5) make sure the tape is longer than the total recording time.
6) insert a tape into the VCR.
7) press CH +/- on the remote to select the channel or line input video source to record.
8) select the tape speed SP/EP (SP provides better quality, EP provides three times the recording time as SP)
9) Press the record button to start recording. The VCR display will display the message REC.
