I'm on a 12mbs DSL(AT&T U-Verse ISP) and my PS3 will only go as high as 6mbs. Why & can it go faster? Also I got a 2nd PS3 for my boy so we can play COD MW2 together, but it will not let us host each other(be on the same team). It defeats the purpose of getting the 2nd PS3.

High speed internet

Pay for it. Your speed is limited by your ISP. Unless it's limited by your distance from the CO; in which case you are limited by physics.

Bridging the modem actually disables the dhcp server on your modem...
If you bridge the modem, then the dhcp will get disabled which in turn disables NAT on your modem...
If you contact your ISP they will help you to bridge the modem... because bridging varies according to the ISP...

The power light stays red and does not pick up the DSL line. Then after a short while the modem shuts off without it being unplugged from the outlet.

Telephone your local ISP (Internet Service Provider). If they provided the DSL modem to you, they can trouble-shoot your problem, and, if necessary, ship you a replacement modem. If they cannot help you, it is time for you to find a different ISP that _can_ help you.

I want to connect to my DSL but my emachine

First, go to control panel, click the icon "network connections" you most likely will see setups that exist for dial up.

Make sure your DSL drivers and box are fucntioning properly, then delete the existing connections, Your install disc for your DSL should set things up nicely, after that, create a new network connection, and DON"T, repeat DON'T choose the dialling options, follow the prompts, you will see all the right questions to answer, like "never dial a connection", which is what your PC has been told to do previously.

It will happen so fast, you will wonder what you did.

Dsl modem network cable attached modem icon

Are you trying to set up the router ?
First make sure that your computer is online when connected directly to the mdoem. ISP is DSL.
If not online through the modem then you should have user name and password for the ISP.
try to reconfigure the router.

DSL-2640U connect to internet but want to setup second dialup connection from pc

Sounds like you have high speed internet and also want a dialup connection as well. Maybe as a backup.
Anyway, your pc will need have a dialup modem installed in it.
If you already have one installed then you will also need a dialup ISP account. Some times an ISP will provide dialup in addition to broadband. Ask you ISP or call AOL.
