I can't get my iPhone out of demo mode or restore to 3.0

I assume they put special software on the store units. If a restore from your iPhone won't make it work as normal, then I suspect only Apple can change it. You could always call them and ask. I suspect they consider them store only units.

Disabling store demo mode If you consider installing the configuration file included below make sure you understand how to disable this mode first.
Mobile configuration files are used to configure phones in enterprises. Apple provides an app called the iPhone Configuration Utility (IPCU) to install and remove configurations. To disable store demo mode:

• Use IPCU to remove the configuration from the phone
• Reboot your device

check to see if there is a demo for the game and download the demo. i had the same problem when i bought nba jam on fire edition, i bought the game first but ended up having to download the demo also. try that and let me know what happened

If you bought the iPhone used, it could be already locked to a carrier. If the iPhone wasnt previously purchased at full price (or jailbroken) then it will be locked to a specific carrier like Rogers or AT&T. If thats the case, you will have to contact that carrier and ask if they will unlock it, otherwise jailbreaking the iPhone can unlock it aswell, you can find guides through google on how to do it, Apple doesn't support it.

If you did buy the phone new, then try plugging into iTunes (make sure iTunes is fully updated, i think 10.3 is then newest). If it recognizes it and doesn't activate the SIM card, there will be an option to restore the iPhone (Erase and reinstall the operating system. If it doesn't recognize it at all through iTunes, follow this article to force it into Recorvery mode, which can let you restore it. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808

This some times happen, you iphone should be fine though.

- connect your iphone to the Computer

- open itunes

- hold down the on/off button at the top and the home button at the bottom at the same time for up to 3 full minutes.

- you will see an erro from itunes that the iphone is in recovery mode

- click ok

- then choose =Restore=

I've encountered that before when I tried to jailbreak a disabled iPhone thinking that blackra1n will override any restrictions, but I was wrong. So, I put the iPhone to DFU mode first and restored it before I can continue on my jailbreak.

If you plug your phone into the computer and it tells you that its locked, put the phone into DFU mode http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034
And restore it from there.
It took me 3 times to actually get it into DFU mode so it may take a couple of tries.

There was a similar problem with my ipod nano.. The ipod/iphone has got the apple logo built in but if it cant fint the firmware to run then is shuts itself down. to fix and restore.. 1. Put the iPhone in DFU mode by holding the home and power buttons for 10 secs the hold the home for 10 secs.
2. Connect to itunes
3. itunes should say " iTunes has found a iPhone in recovery mode. You need to restore the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes"
4. Restore - this should take an hour or so..
5. Done.
This works with my ipod touch but i havnt got a iPohne and the firmware is the same.

Try restarting software upgrade. Often this solve the problem.

Also press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
