Problem with my sapphire x1650 bootup

I have a problem when i bootup i just get a black screen. My mobo's post code indicator says its an early pci initialization. When i plug my older radeon 9800 card the computer boots up fine. I have an abit kv8 pro motherboard and an amd athlon 3000+ processor. I've tried flashing my bios to a newer version and i have the latest ati drivers installed and no luck. I wouldn't like to buy a new card, i would just like to get the computer to run fine with my x1650 if its possible. thanks

Whenever you install, add or remove hardwares from your computer, always clear the CMOS or reset the BIOS Settings. Try these methods:

PC wont boot

Check your specs for this one on your Card (should be on the box or in your included documentation), but I believe your card is PCIE v2.1. If this is the case, your card won't work. Your mainboard is an older one, and you can tell by the black PCIE slot that it is only PCIE 1.0. NOTE: PCIE v2.0 cards will work with PCI v1.0 as long as they meet power requirements, etc. (yours should be fine) but there are no updates to fix this on your mainboard. Time to dig out your receipt and look over the return policy. Again, a PCI v2.0 should work OK, just not the v2.1 cards.
Please take a moment to leave feedback if I helped you out today.

My ati radeon x1650 stops working on black ops,but still workin on cod4 mw2

When you say it stops working, does it just go blank after it loads the cinematic? I had an 8600GT with similar specs to your X1650 and it used to go black with Black Ops after the cinematic and stay like that. After I got a new card it worked 100% fine. There is a large possibility that your X1650 is a little out-of-date for perfect Black Ops play.

I'm not sure I follow all of waht you are doing and /or did however, this card requires a minimum 400w power supply so, make sure you have the power. It may or may not be a factor. These cards can be tricky sometimes and I will start by saying, the install should have gone in this order: Install the card, boot your system and insert your CD. Start by downloading all drivers and "utilities" from CD. You will not get all the bells and whistles taht come with the card unless you get them from the CD or, possibly from Sapphire, and reboot. Check in "programs and features" and device manager to make sure you see your device. Once you have done this, you can then upgarde your drivers from respective sites, AMD, Sapphire, etc. You definately have to unisatall all prior software that has anything to do with ATI/AMD prior to installing new software. You can do a custom uninstall and install here. At his point, I would go into "programs and features" and unistall all ATI/AMD software and start over. Any software from existing cards as well. You also need to reboot after each unistall or install. Where are you getting this 1250 from? Is it from the CD? This is alot to swallow and if I am missing something let me know. I can help you with the upgrade of the VGA driver nut, lets see if this works and, taht I am on the right track. Contact me at "add a comment".

Board: P5N32 SLI Premuim, Graphics Card Wont Work.

The best option at this point would be to take the x1650 out, put the 8800GT into the bottom slot and test to see if it boots. If it doesn't boot, try the other slot. Some motherboards also seem to have problems with some video cards as well.

Sapphire HD2400 PRO 512M - Doesn't seems to be working

For windows to work, it needs the card's drivers to display properly. The bios will display, and the beginning of windows load messages will show, but then it switches to the installed display driver. Take the card out, and use the old display method, and load the drivers for the new card. Then set the screen resolution to 800x600 and the shutdown, and install the new card. The bootup should go correctly, and once the new drivers are in, then set the resolution desired.

Hi this is vinit...i'm planning to buy new graphic crd. plz adv..

This motherboard will support any PCI-Express (also known as PCI-E or PCI-X) video card-- which is pretty much any current ATI card that's out there. You DON'T want an AGP card however-- it won't fit.
