i cannot access my router, because the ip he catches is wrong, i tried entering everything manually, but also didin't worked. Firstly it shows invalid ip, and after 40~ seconds it catches 169.***.***... something like that. And sadly no access to it, that i could reset it or change settings. Is there any way make factory reset without accessing the router? The reset button on it's back, doesn't reset it to factory settings, i tried...Maybe somebody knows what is the gateway, dns server and other details that it should be by default?

Blank wan mac address

You can't telnet based on the mac address you would be using the ip address. The mac is burnt into the device and isn't touched by a firmware update. If you did an update and the ip address changed, you can use a port scanner such as nmap to do a ping sweep and find the devices ip address.

I cant open my WIRELESS ROUTER |WL-520G - RT (WL520GC) on my browser; if i open the default gateway the isp modem settings pops out not my asus router seting... pls hep

Hi!
I tried to figure out some explanation, and I think it's possible that both WAN side of the router and LAN side of it have same types od ip adresses, maybe the default 192.168.1.***. That means that the WAN port of the Router, the ethernet port of the modem, the wireless and LAN ports of the router have same tuype of adresses, maybe all asigned by DHCP.
To be sure, I suggest you to:
1. turn of the modem
2. check that the network connection obtains ip adress automatically
3. in a dos prompt (START - RUN -CMD) type IPCONFIG, it will return among other infos the adress of the default gateway.
4. now type that adress in the browser.
5. if it works, log on to the router and change the LAN settings so that the adresses used in the LAN will be different from the WAN, let's say 10.10.10.1 and so on

I can not acess the router 89300 via the URL: http://192.168.0.1

This router uses 192.168.1.1. Some suggestions for solving problems accessing the page are at Airlink's site here.

Hope this helps! Thanks for using Fixya.

Have an airlink card bus

If you have access to change the wireless routers channel do that. Log onto your router from the wired connection probably 192.168.x.1 (x is your subnet, find this by going to run>type cmd>hit enter>type ipconfig>hit enter the gateway IP should be your router

type that ip in a browser i.e. http://192.168.x.1 and log in go to wireless settings and find the channel option. usually you'll want to keep it at 1,6, or 11

(if your wireless utility doesn't show channels) go to your wireless pc and install netstumbler > install it > click the scan button and you should see all of access points around you. choose a channel that is used the least between 1, 6 and 11 and save that as your new channel on the router, as you are probably getting a lot of interference.

second try using the built in windows utility instead of the airlink one

I am trying to telnet through a Linksys RVS4000 from the wan side of the router to a fixed device on the lan side of the router. Both networks wan & lan are operational and I can ping the Wan side...

run netstat on the lan pc to see if telnet server is listening on port 23. look at logs on the router and pc to see if it is blocking any traffic. make sure lan pc has route back to wan

Problem after firmware update Edimax BR-6114Wg

Hi Fklco,

Why are you connecting the WAN,, (the internet modem cable), to the standard ports? It should have a WAN port, for the cable from the modem, and a LAN for the cables to the computer?

On the other hand, if it is working, I would leave well enough alone, :D

Green Power light flashing

Hi, Have you tried a hard reset? Your model has a small reset button at the rear between the Internet/WAN connection and one of the antennas (Press for 10 seconds +). Also flashing power led is an indicator of firmware problem which might have been caused by a failed firmware upgrade/update. Instruction on how to correct this problem is also included in the firmware upgrade/update. A more detailed instruction is in the User Manual. With regards to firmware update/upgrade , pls be reminded that firmware is very version specific. To locate the version number, you have to look underneath the unit and download the appropriate firmware from LinkSys website. (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_CASupport_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1166859878881&packedargs=sku%3D1115416826220&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=7888126220B03&displaypage=download) The download is a zip file which you have to extract to a folder. The .bin file plus instructions as well as specific instructions on how to make the power led stop flashing. Hope this works out for you. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
