My Planar PL1910M monitor will not show pictures on the monitor. All connections were checked and power is going to the unit. The power button stays green typically but on occasion will flash yellow. This just happened out of nowhere. Any ideas on how to fix this so the monitor works?

Hi,

first of all the problem is not with the monitor...
its probably a corrupted BIOS
(basic i/p o/p systems) its the chip in the motherboard which stores the configuration of your system...

one way to get around this is to,
open the case of your CPU
then on the motherboard there will be a small battery, which is called the CMOS battery ...
take out the battery from its slot...
after a minute put it back in the slot..

now you shold be able to work fine because the BIOS loads with default setting...

if this one works please give a vote

It has white screen becuase it may not be getting the 5vdc from the logic board to the T-CON board or the board has blown fuse.
Please see http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/LCD%20panel/

Also look to see if power supply/logic bd had any bad caps also.

No picture

Power supply section will be the first place to check, find out if you do hav 12~18vdc feeding the inverter circuits.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Monitor control panel comes up for no apparent reason. Begins to rotate between options without any user input. If I hit the power button, the rotation stops, and the monitor remains on. Have already reset...

This sounds like a problem with one or more of the buttons on the monitor itself being stuck on, or a fault in the circuitry connected with the buttons.

Check for grit etc. in the buttons, maybe try cleaning with a soft brush while unplugged from power.
