first of all the problem is not with the monitor...
its probably a corrupted BIOS
(basic i/p o/p systems) its the chip in the motherboard which stores the configuration of your system...
one way to get around this is to,
open the case of your CPU
then on the motherboard there will be a small battery, which is called the CMOS battery ...
take out the battery from its slot...
after a minute put it back in the slot..
now you shold be able to work fine because the BIOS loads with default setting...
