No picture with Yamaha 6130 reciever. I have component cables hooked up from cable box to reciever then component cables to TV. Receiver selected to DTV/CBL. I have no picture on TV. Checked cable inputs and outputs many times ok. Why won't the video switch through the receiver . Sound works through audio cables is Ok.

The TV must be tuned to the correct input also. Please cycle through the tv inputs by pressing the input button on the tv one time, then wait 5 to 10 seconds for the tv to recognize the input signal. If nothing, press again. You don't say which tv you have but many newer models have 5 to 7 input sources you will have to cycle through to find your signal.

With out more information, this is just one step in finding out what could be wrong. Please rank me accordingly.

Good luck.

When watching cable tv we are not getting any sound from the speakers. We do get sound from all the speakers when watching a dvd or listen to the stereo. I have a Yamaha HTR 5660 receiver. All the cables...

Your best bet is to hook all your video components directly to TV, using your TV's menu to choose what you want to watch, and then hooking reciever to TV via digital optical out from TV to digital optical in on reciever. From what I read, your reciever has 6 digital optical inputs. Anyway, try running, at least, your cable box to TV, best by HDMI, the run digital optical out to reciever. Make sure you go throught he recievers menu to make sure you have he right channel selected for audio.

I have a yamaha htr 6130 receiver. Hooked up to it are a dvd player, cable box, and the t.v. Where (which inputs) do I put in the wii connections? I know it's the yellow, white, red ... but there are so...

Your problem is not the Yamaha reciever. You need to figure out how to switch your tv remote to the inputs you have tried to plug the Wii into, Your TV remote should have some sort of "source" or "input" selection button, or it may have a row of buttons that are labled. Without knowing the brand of your TV or seeing the remote, I can't be more specific, but clearly this is a tv issue. You could also use the video out on your 5.1 reciever, but first solve the tv remote issue. Keith

Hdmi in but no analog out

the guy was wrong. the analog and digital portions of the receiver are totally separate.

according to Yamaha:

"Be sure to connect your video components in the same way you connect your video monitor to this unit. For example, if you connect your video monitor to this unit using an HDMI or COMPONENT VIDEO connection, connect your video components to this unit using
the HDMI or COMPONENT VIDEO connection."

Intermittant disruption of Picture and Sound on View TV/HDMI only

If i am not mistaken you can select the HDMI signal going out on the 663, this means you should select to have only pictures to go out as sound will have to be reproduced by the 663.
So HDMI output setup on the 663 should indicate image only, no sound.

Different sound levels dvd and cable hdtv yamaha htr-6130

Well, first of all, the method you are using is the lowest quality. You should upgrade to a toslink(digital optical cable) or a digital RCA cable. The toslink is the best all around. But it is normal for some devices to have higher sound output than others.

Getting Audio to work with our Cable Tv

The HTR-6130 does not decode the audio from the HDMI inputs. It only acts as a switcher. You will need a separate audio connection from the cable box to the HTR-6130.
