HI markyague do you have the desktop manager loaded on yout computer. If you do the the software is you need to reload your applications onto your blackberry. You will need to backup the information as you reload the doftware if you do not. You will be in out of luck on the contacts and any other nformation. you can reload the firmware by going to blackberry.com and do a firmware update online. hope this helps

Force a reset by loading version 5 desktop software on your laptop first and then connecting the BlackBerry to it. It may take some time for your pc to recognise that the BlackBerry is plugged in, so be patient!
When it connects, reload the firmware.

all you need to do is sync your blackberry with your blackberry desktop manager and run the application loader. you will lose all data on the phone because you will be re-installing the software
