Right now I have an "old" Emerson TV with RF and AV inputs.
The AV are accessed through front panel AV input and GAME selection on remote control.
The output of any brand VCR or DVD player I have tried will operate if they both use either RF (coax) cables or AV, (Red, White, Yellow) cables.
Looking at http://tinyurl.com/knbhoof
I see the right outputs.

IM GUESSING THIS MIGHT BE AN RCA TELEVISION? if you dont have an rca in hook up on the tv give up and buy a new tv or you can find an older item what it is is a switch that has an rca input and a coax output it was used to hook up the older video game systems it is still sold in most stores and that will work if you do have rca inputs and lost the remote you need to get a universal remote to switch the input on certain older rca tv's you could go to channel 00 and it would set it to the input with the switch you shoudl be able to use it by putting the tv on channel 3

My RCA XL100 is hooked up to cable and works perfectly fine. We've had it for ages and the picture is clear, sound is beautiful, and it gets along fine with my universal remote. There's just one...

Some of their very old sets the video input was located on channels in the 90's; Try scrolling down from 99 to 90 to see if you locate the video input; this is just the way they did things in the older sets.

Before you rate this solution let me know what you find first.

Hitachi DV-PF 2U dvd player works fine when hooked directy to TV (channel 3) but won't work when connected through the new COX digital cable box. TV is set to channel 4, dvd player turned on, disc...

If the cable box needs to be set to 4, the TV will need to be set to 4 as well as the dvd player. The hookup should be cable box to dvd player to the TV for your system to work. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

Craig dvd player, model CVD327, won't play

no, s video is not required to work. if you hooked up 3 colors to the tv 3 colors. make sure it's on video 1 or aux channel. and as long the dvd player is on and that channel is on, if that does not work, try on another tv that has same connection. if that doesn't work, then we know that dvd player doesn't work.

Connecting digital converter,Emerson VCR/DVD Combo,Sony SDTV

I think you may need an RF Modulator. This device will have connections for the DVD and TV and will have a channel 3/4 switch. Good luck to you.

Emerson VCR/DVD player - can't get tv (cable tv) to play anymore

I have the same problem with my Emerson VCR. When the ADD button is flashing, just press the menu button to exit the menu. It will add. That's the only thing I know to do. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

X-Box

You can get the RF adaptor from microsoft, but you cant connect the Xbox directly to any recording device, it is some kind of coppyright protection thing microsoft put in every game system.  you cvould also try getting a $20 video switcher from walmart if You dont want to mess around with more cables

GO VIDEO DV2150

you can try going from the wall to the dvd/vcr first then to the cable box then to the TV. It may find the channels but they might not be in the order you usually wouls see them i.e chan 4 may be chan 34 etc. this will only work on an analog connection, if you have digital cable box it will not work. other than that, you have to control everythng from the cable box and the dvd remains on chan 3 at all times.
