Hi there, You are lucky that it is on... try one thing.. put the fun under the sunlight for half an hour or may be 15 min if its too hot there and try it again... if this will not work then try to open the phone if you can clean the top screen area and put it back (try at your own risk) and it will do..
I hated that happened to you but I hope that you have insurance on it. Anyway for the stickiness very lightly damp a Q-tip or the tip of a towel and rub against the buttons that are sticky. Use water and a very small drop of rubbing alcohol. Now for the warning signal maybe just leave the phone alone for several hours or days and then test it later or open the phone take the battery out and see if it looks like the soda had gotten down in the phone . If it doesn't it might have a good chance of coming back on but if it does place the phone in a draining position so that the remainder of the soda can drain on a cloth or something. Please do not use a blow dryer if it is still wet because it might make it worse that what it is. But even though i don't recommend it if you want to try it hold the blow dryer back a few inches and move the phone in different positions as you do it. If all these fail (I'm not an expert) call customer service.
Well, the G1 is a smartphone and it's constantly on the internet so it's obviously going to use a lot more battery power. However 3 hours is ridiculously short! You could try recalibrating the battery. To do this you use your phone until it has completely run out of charge and switches itself off. Then you turn it on again and again until all that it shows is a red LED and it refuses to turn on. After this you charge it while it's off until the green LED has been on for 2 hours. Hopefully this will help improve your battery life.
You do not need wifi to transfer from your computer but if you want to turn the wifi on all you need to do is goto settings then wifi and make sure your wifi is turned on
