I have a Blackberry Pearl 8130, the mobile network shuts off by itself. When it try to provision, the phone states that the radio is shut off. How do I fix this problem so the radio stays on all the...

Hi,

This is unfortunately a known issue with the Pearl. There are a couple reasons to why this happens. If your battery is defective, then your phone will sporadically believe that your phone is low on battery (even when its not), this will cause your phone to kick the radio off by itself--even every 5 minutes. Try cleaning the battery contacts or even try a new battery. Another reason is a faulty OS, if the battery replacement doesn't work, then the problem is with your OS and will have to be re-installed. I know this sounds like a hassle, but its a known issue and it should take care of your problems.

Below is the procedure :

This would be a long procedure.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Radio keeps shutting off

When there is no signal around ur blackberry will shut off the radio instead of constantly searching for one which really kills battery power just make sure you arent in a real signal dead area and you should be fine to turn it back on just go to manage connections and click it back on,if this is not the problem then there might be some problem with ur phone.

Radio connection shuts off every 30 seconds

Try taking battery out and putting it back in - have had a couple of problems with my own blackberry and this is advice I was given, and it worked! Might be worth a try anyway.

Blackberry Pearl won't stay connected to radio

If it was spotty reception, I'd suggest the antenna may have been damaged when dropped. They do get damaged.
But systemic, timed 16 second bursts?
In Settings, when is your phone configured to 'go to sleep'? After how long a period of inactivity?
It may not be considering the radio signal is be sufficient activity to justify keeping it 'awake'.

Blackberry Pearl keeps turning mobile connection off.

There might be some issue with the BlackBerry Device Software associated with the BlackBerry smartphone so Upgrade the BlackBerry smartphone with a newer version of BlackBerry Device Software and make sure that you have taken a backup before upgrading.

Blackberry 8130 disconnects from Network after 10-20 seconds

You can always try and reprovision your phone and resend the Host Routing Table (HRT) but if it is constantly dropping service it is probably a hardware issue and not something that can be permanently fixed. It could also be a radio issue but I would take it back and request a new one.
