The agitator should just pull straight up and out of machine.

GE WASHER #WHDRR418G1WW DRAINS BUT WON'T AGITATE OR SPIN

Most likely you'll need a new motor, you can check the belt, to see if its attached around the big pulley. To access, you'll need to pop the front cover off the unit, it has two tabs you push in, on the front, where the top lid meets the front cover. Use a flat-head, be careful not to scratch your paint.

You can also, take off your back panel, on the control console, and remove the wiring diagram, you can diagnose this washer yourself, because the motor has a blinking light that will indicate to you, what is going on with your unit, it will tell the problem for you.

Please take a look at this website, about half-way down, as it could also be your lidswitch.

I have a GE washer with a model number WHDRR418G1WW I think it is hard to read. Anyway, I will not agitate. I have unplugged the machine and let it sit for a minute or two and then did the reset thing but...

Try moving the agitator by hand, when turned backwards it shoud stop.

If not, romove the softener cup by pulling up, remove the cap underneath, remove the bolt, pull the top half of the agitator off, you should see broken plastic pieces.

They are called DOGS, cheap and easy to replace.

Ask your friendly appliance parts guy.

Hi,
If you hear the motor go through the stages, but nothing is happening in the tub, the motor belt may be broken or off.

WHDRR418G1WW WASHER WON'T AGITATE OR SPIN, NOT MAKING NOISES. FILLS AND DRAINS FINE.

sounds like you have a broken lid switch on the washer, maybe someone slammed the door or placed or stood on top of the washer, a broken lid switch won't allow washer to go into spin mode is a safety device so if is on spin cycle an someone sticks their hand it the machine stops an not breaks your hand.

broken lid swtich

good luck leave some feedback thanks!

GE profile washing machine won't agitate it spins out, drains,

Pull the agitator out and check the drive collar splines. If you have the model I think you have just pull straight up on the agitator. Once removed you will see the drive collar with a 7/16 head bolt, remove it and pull off the collar.First before pulling it off spin it if splines are stripped it will spin freely.

We had the same problem with our new GE washer.......the repairman just left. It's the circuit board on the motor that failed, causing the motor to stop working. GE will replace it under warranty.
