I bought a 46 inch DLP. Hooked it up. Great picture. Great sound. 4 days later, the television shuts down and has no power at all. Akai has scheduled for the television to be repaired. After 3 weeks in the shop the television is deemed unrepairable and is scheduled to be replaced. This all occurred in October 2007. I still have no television and Akai states they will NOT give a refund. Every time I call and inquire about the status of the television I am told I have to wait another 4-6 weeks due to some issue with logisitics from China. I was even told that the television was scheduled to be shipped on February 26th. I called and asked about how they were going to handle the pick up and drop off of the televisions, I was told that the television was not scheduled to be delivered. They have to pick up the defective television first and then in 4-6 weeks I will receive the new television. Akai is misleading, stalling for time and all this is at the customer's expense. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCT. I have never seen such unprofessional business ethics in my life.
Your nightmare is not over - They will send you a refurbished television - Make sure to inspect it before they drop it off - The only way to get results is to threatned a lawsuit - email your threat to [email protected]
