My gas stove the clock and timer in the back does not light up or work. The rest of the stove works fine. What could it be?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Most likely the "CLOCK" This is the term used for the timer/clock assembly. Reply with a model # and I can point you toward a replacement part. Thanks

If everything is working fine but you have no display then you need to replace the clock timer.

My oven and stove top in inoperative. the clock,

If everything checks out fine, and you have no wires grounding out, then the issue is the control or circuit board( same thing).

The timer has broken and needs replacing

I had the same problem, we checked all the wires inside and all ok, so phoned stoves and they said that the it sounds like the timer as this is the first port

Replaced the timer and cooker is now working fine - only thing to remember when ordering the timer - my cooker is green and now has a red light instead of green

Hope this helps

Caloric gas stove prestige series

to jenna 12 Does your stove have a stop and start timer? When you set your clock you may have inadvertantly moved the stop or start time on that timer. Check them, if they have knobs for setting the stop and start time, make sure the pointer is pointing to the current time and that the knob is popped out and not stuck in. when you have it right both the stop and the start knob should be out, not pushed in. They will pop out when you turn them to the current time.

These timers allow you to start something cookin at a time delayed several hours. this means they will not allow the oven to come on until it hits that time that you may have set in error.

If your stove has a digital stop and start timer check each one so that both show the current time, then your oven should light.
