Hi, have you loaded the ipod? If not you will need to first register your product and download the drivers- iTunes software- so that the media to be loaded to the Ipod must be converted and copied to the Ipod from your PC. So in this case you need to connect to the official site and register your product, then proceed to download and install.
are we talking about the driver as in woofer or driver and in computer driver... there isnt a computer driver since this is set up as a portable music speaker for ipod or mps players. but if you need a replacement woofer you can order one using this information. Visit the Harman Audio Store to purchase accessories & replacement parts for your products or call 1.800.336.4525 9:00am - 6:30pm EST Monday - Friday.
Did it come with a drivers disc? Some specialty MP3 players do. You'll need to install these drivers for windows to recognize as windows will generally only recognize MP3 players whose hard drives are set up like flash drives, but if it has it's own operating system, like higher-end MP3 player such as Creative ones and iPods, they need drivers.
If it doesn't have a disc, try the link below, see if there's drivers/troubleshooting guides or applications for your product.

Apple has made it harder and harder to use our ipods over the last upgrade especially. I am running itune 8 on vista home basic and I have the same problem. But since I repair ipods i put numerous ipods on this system and it doesn;t work that great with any of them. although I have found one solution that really has helped with alot of connection issues and ipod crashing in vista. I installed a usb 2.0 card in my computer and only use it for my ipod cable and it has helped. Most of the iPods and iPhones only will connect with a 2.o usb port anymore. So if you have a usb 2.0 use it, if you need drivers get them and reinstall them in your computer to get the fast usb connection. it is still slow in itunes but it's much better.
as for iTunes 8 and why it crashes, well it is an apple product. the don;t care about the ipod, it's a throw away product for them. They want you to buy a new one. But in this day and age, they should give us a break and start making the products so they are user friendly. Thats why Mac has never really exploded. They are too expensive and they don;t support their products. Even the Geniuses at the genius bars in Apple store done know **** about their own products, they just give refubished ****.
iPod does not need any drivers only thing you need is iTunes if you dont have iTunes download iTUnes from here and when you connect iPod iTunes will detect it and there you can copy songs and syc play list and songs.
