Any undersink reverse osmosis system will give you the low tds high quality water needed for the steamer. Make sure the ro system does not have a mineral cartridge to add back calcium that it removes from water.

You can use cheap pure distilled water (with no additive) as used to top up car battery: supermarkets and auto shops will carry the product.
You can also make your own by investing in a water distiller but they can be expensive and the cheaper model will take about one hour to make one liter.
As a cheap alternative and easy to find alternative, use a good quality drinking water filter (jug) to make your clean product with tap water and your steam iron will still thank you!

Hope it helps!

My Morphy Richards steam generator iron is intermittent with steam.

If your Morphy Richards steam generator iron is experiencing intermittent steam and you suspect a blockage in the hose, here are some steps you can take to address the issue:
  1. Check the water tank: Ensure that the water tank is filled with clean water and that the water level is adequate. Low water levels can affect steam production. If necessary, refill the water tank.
  2. Examine the steam settings: Verify that you have selected the appropriate steam settings on your iron. Some models have different steam intensity levels, so make sure you have set it to the desired level.
  3. Check for blockages in the hose: Disconnect the hose from the iron and inspect it for any visible blockages. Use a long, flexible brush or pipe cleaner to gently clean the inside of the hose and remove any debris or mineral deposits that may be causing the blockage. Ensure that the hose is securely reattached to the iron after cleaning.
  4. Clean the steam vents: Over time, steam vents on the iron's soleplate can become clogged with mineral deposits or fabric fibers. Use a cotton swab or a soft brush to clean the steam vents, removing any buildup that may be obstructing the steam flow.
  5. Perform a thorough descaling: While you have already used white vinegar for descaling, it's possible that there are still mineral deposits causing the blockage. Consider using a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for steam irons. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the descaling solution to effectively remove any scale or deposits that may be affecting steam production.
  6. Contact customer support: If you have tried the above steps and the issue persists, it may be best to contact Morphy Richards customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps or advise on potential repairs or service options.
Remember to always follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines when cleaning and maintaining your steam generator iron. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with any aspect of the troubleshooting process, it's recommended to seek professional assistance to avoid potential damage or injury.

It will not steam. We put in a solution of vinegar and 2 parts water from a pitcher that filters water. Will this be considered distilled water or is distilled water critical?

Distilled water and filtered water are not the same. Distilled water is water that has been boiled then condensed so that most of the impurities that cause water hardness (Sodium, Calcium, etc.) have been removed. Filtering does not remove these which is why your iron will clog up much quicker. Same applies to your car battery, distilled water only! To clean it mix "Lime Away" with water about 1/4 cup with water every 6 months or so, then rinse with clean water a few times to get rid of the green color, steam until it comes out clear again..

How do i descale a team international steam pro 2600w iron

Buy a bottle of descaler and put it in the tank where you normally put the water. Put iron on hottest steam poison and run steam , topping up as required. Rinse thoroughly when finished and iron has cooled. Use distilled or demineralised water for steaming and the iron shouldn't require cleaning again.

Rowenta Focus iron has only been used about 5 times. I use bottle water and iron spits out rust colored residue during steam cycle.

If you mean bottled drinking water, that is full of mineral salts, no good. Use demineralised or distilled water from the supermarket, it is cheap.

Clean the iron first like this

Rust coming thru pores on sole plate?

You need to get a iron cleaning product to clean your machine. In the future, use ONLY distilled water in your Iron. Distilled water has been turned into steam (leaving all the minerals in the boiler) and that steam condensed back into water so it is absolutely free of minerals (that is what is coming out of your Iron).

Sum up: Clean it using a product designed to clean steam irons. Don't use tap or bottled water - ONLY distilled water.

Get the distilled water at your super market or auto parts store. Get the Iron cleaner where appliances are sold or at your local hardware store. You may have to ask for it.

Thanks for your question.

Clean iron?

Hello tcant....
  • 1 Fill the iron's steam receptacle with white vinegar or CLR, a product used to clean coffee pots. CLR is available in department stores.

  • 2 Plug in and set the iron to its steam setting.
  • 3 Operate as usual. When the vinegar or CLR begins to steam, operate the iron as you would normally. Press it over an old, clean towel as the vinegar or CLR loosens sediment and dirt from the appliance.
  • 4 Continue ironing until all of the cleaning solution has steamed out. Repeat the cleaning process if necessary until the iron no longer oozes discolored liquid and the ironing surface is clean.
  • 5 Fill the iron steamer receptacle with distilled water and set the appliance to steam.
  • 6 Continue steaming until the smell of vinegar or CLR is gone.
  • 7 Prevent future mineral buildup by using distilled water for steam in your iron, rather than tap water. Joe. Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Dear Fixya, The iron heats up but there is no steam coming out of my ''Stirella No Problem'' steam iron. Both the lights stay on and the green boiler light goes out and this indicates that the steam is...

This has worked for my SX8040D, but may not be a permanent solution. Fill the reservoir with clean tapwater - not demineralised or softened and not bottled water. Turn on iron and wait 20 minutes. Then try.

How do i rinse out, lack of steam

Steam irons get clogged from mineral deposits left from the steam. Try using a 50% mix of white vinegar and water to clean out the iron. Place the mixture in the iron and let it heat to steam. Do a second round with plain distilled water, and clean the iron bottom plate after. If this doesn't work, try a product such "Lime away" or "CRL" to dissolve the minerals.
