Big issues with Vista on my Inspiron!

Okay, I'm having big, big issues with my laptop. It's an Inspiron with Vista on it. I turned on the computer one day and I got a black screen with white text saying "Windows failed to start." I only have two options, one is to launch startup repair, and the other is to start Windows normally. I tried to start it normally, but all I get is the green loading bar, then a black screen that stays blank like that. So then I tried the other option, and it says that it's searching for problems. I left it to do that all night one night, but the next morning, nothing had happened and it was still on that same screen. I then pressed the F8 key while my computer booted up, so I did. There I was given multiple options. The first was to repair my computer. I logged in as an admin and had the options to launch another startup repair, use system restore, windows complete restore, windows memory diagnostic tool, the command prompt, and Dell DataSafe Restore and Emergency Backup. I tried system restore but I kept getting error message 0x80070001. Then I went back to the F8 options. The next three options were three different types of Safe Mode. I tried them, but after all the files(?) load, it stays on that screen forever. Other options I had were to enable boot logging, enable low-resolution video, use the last known good configuration, use the directory services restore mode, use debugging mode, disable the automatic restart on system failure, disable the driver signature enforcement, and again, start windows normally.
I don't know what can help me or what I should do anymore. Help!

I tried what you said. System restore gave me an error message no matter which point I tried, pressing CTRL + F11 didn't bring up anything new, and I'm not entirely sure how to repair/reinstall Vista from here...but I do have the disk.

Did you try to "Restore this computer to another point in time"? Then you press F8, and choose "System Restore" then another screen asks if you want to go to safe desktop, or do a system restore, when you select system restore, another window, a bit like a calendar, and you choose a date prior to when you had problems?
Otherwise, please try this... when dell screen comes up on keyboard hit CTRL+ F11 twice only then you will see Dell pc restore by Symantec.Hit on restore and hit on i agree and select the option Restore the pc to dell factory settings and then it will restore the pc.
Otherwise you will have to obtain a Windows Vista install DVD, boot on this and repair/reinstall from That.. anyway try whats proposed and get back to me..

Is your Vista 64 bit too?

OK, IF you have a disk, put it in the DVD, boot off the DVD, and do a "Repair" install, if "It" will not allow that, simply reinstall into the same directory as it is in now, this will over write your Vista copy and allow you to start again..

Jumping Cursor

Wow! Electronics and Water do not mix. Your Dell Inspiron 1545 keyboard can be removed follow these instructions from Dell:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1545/en/SM/keyboard.htm#wp1179891

Then the next step is to get the water dryed out from under side.
As crazy as this may seem I have tried it on many other things like phones, and remotes left out in the rain.
Get a cheesecloth fill it up with rice! Yes RICE! It is one of the best absorbents.

Place it on the under where the keyboard sits overnight and give it a try in the morning.

My dell inspiron is not working

its not a big problem,first don't panic.just follow the steps i m telling you-
when computer give options like safe mode, safe mode with net working etc.enter on safe mode
after that if windows starts thn run your antivirus installed in your computer and if u dont hav antivirus then install it using pendrive or cd and run it.
after full scan od the system restart computer again.
if problem persists then again start your computer in safe mode and cut all the importand data from your c drive and paste it on d drive or e drive and reinstall XP or VISTA but remember while installing XP OR VISTA computer will ask you to format whole computer or the c drive only,u only format c drive.
tht's it

and always have one good antivirus installed in your system and update it regularly.

Just turns off

It might be overheating. Most laptops have vents in the bottom and the side or back. Block any of them, and the heat really builds up, especially in intensive use like showing videos. Lay it on a hard surface, maybe a big book, to let it breathe. It might save you long-term damage.

I have a dell inspiron with netgear wireless router. windows vista

Do you have Xp or Vista?
The little computer on the tool bar is one of your network connections (you have 2, one wireless and one wired)
It ssems like the laptop is not connecting automatically to your wireless network. To change this go into whatever program you are using to configure wireless (it may be configured by netgear or by windows) and make sure you have your wireless netowrk selected as conect automatically and at the top of your list.

Hope that helps.

Laptop image and color distorted

hmmm...too bad about the spongebob. Any liquid hitting the screen, won't usually neutralize the screen. Big issue is if it gets down inside the area where you turn on the computer. That's where the electronics are, and the connectors for the LCD. I'd suggest you enquire about warranty repair(and leave the spongebob part out, since it's not usually covered by the spongebob maker, either). :)

Samsung S630 - camera works Vista doesn't

Take out all all software that you have installed and drivers . See if Vista will see it on its own. Strictly speaking cameras being USB devices do not need drivers or any other software. Just let Windows[Even Vista] do the work. Though having said that Vista is in big trouble with stuff that do need drivers.
