Hi, i purchased a 4 cycle craftsman weed trimmer about 2002 and the gas lines going into the gas tank have broken off just above the tank. The model number plate has been destroyed and the only model number i ca find is for the briggs engine. Any ideas. Have called sears and they have no records. Tnx Bill

If you go to searsparts.com and put in your model number it will show you a drawing of your weed wacker. Not sure of what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

2 cycle or 4 cycle?
2 cycle have two fuel lines running between carb and fuel tank.
Check for crack or break in either line.
You can buy a kit to replace both the pick up line and the return line.
Make sure to note which line is the pick up(filter in tank attached to line) the other is the return.Good Luck

Usually the line with the filter on it that comes from the tank goes to carb. inlet first which is most likely close to the bottom side of the carb.nearest to the engine,then the outlet or return line on the carb.goes to the inlet side of the primer and the outlet side of the primer goes back to the tank. The primer draws fuel through the carb to the primer to the tank if its not? then correct the line connections until it does

it could still have the broken peice from the old one inside the seat.take it apart and look inside and inspect the seat where the drive cable enters.

Cut the end of the line at a sharp angle. Spray WD-40 on the line and fuel tank hole. Slowly screw the line in the tank far enough so you can connect the fuel filter if you are replacing that line. If not just push the line into the tank if you have a two line system. Remember on the fuel primer, the long tip has the line going to the tank, and the short tip has the fuel line going to the carb.

Go to sears.com then parts store then type in model no. You should find a parts breakdown hopefully that will help.
