I think my HP Pav powersupply is dead. When I plug it in and try to turn it on, nothing happens to the HD and computer except a green light flashes on the back of the power supply. It is a Bestec ATX-250-12Z Rev D1 power supply unit. Does the flashing green light indicate a bad unit or something else?

All atx powersupplies are generic-it dous not really matter what computer it comes from unless its a high end pc requiring loads of power-if your machine is intel you may need a supply with an extra twelve volt lead(two yellow and two black leads in a little block)-but for that pc i would just harvest a powerpack out of a dead machine

Open it up again. Take the video card out. Take the Ram out. Unplug the hard drive. Unplug the other drives. Unplug the network card(s). And unplug anything else that is tied to the motherboard. Now plug it all back in snugly. Finally, turn it on. It should be fixed.

Compaq Presario SR2150NX doesn't turn on. Front panel green light turns on but nothing else happens (no fans, no boot, no noise, nothing) Please advice

On the back of the Power Supply there should be a Green LED, When you power it on if it is flashing, this means that the Power Supply is dead and you need to replace it.
