There are adjustment screws on the very back of the deck… one on each side.

1. You will need a hex wrench that came with your unit (look on the side of the deck) sometimes it is attached to a bracket or look in your plastic bag with your instruction manual. If you cannot find it, do not worry, it is a common “hex” size. Purchase a "multi size” hex wrench at the hardware store"

2. Locate the screws on the back of the treadmill on the deck "where you walk" You will see one on each side.

3. With your wrench in hand, start your treadmill on a low speed and take note of which side the belt is "creeping" to the left or right.

4. If the belt is not centered and over to the left side take your tool and adjust the screw on the left side slowly a few turns until you notice the belt creeping back to the center....usually it does not take much adjustment.

5. Once you start getting the hang of what adjusting each particular screw does to the belt....You will be a pro in no time.

6. Once the belt centered, turn off the treadmill and unplug it. Take your hand and slide it under the belt about midway. The belt should feel "snug" against the deck. If it feels too loose...use your new found adjusting skills to tighten the belt adjusting each side a few turns…unplug…checking for tightness until you feel good about it.

7. Last suggestion: Some treadmills decks need lube to help it run smooth. Without it your deck will get worn and the belt will "stick" to the deck....not good. Buy the lube a sporting goods store or at a place that sells treadmills. If you cannot find any buy some spray on graphite.

How do I tighten a slipping belt

My tread mill has a bolt on each side at the rear end that I put a hex key in and turn to tighten. Do both sides the same to keep the tread even on the track. Don't over tighten. I have a different make but most operate the same.

I have a Horizon T203 tread mill and the belt keeps slipping to one side after I did some maintenance on it. I can't get it to adjust properly.

The side it slips to is the side you adjust.
Turn rear roller bolt clockwise whilst the machine is running at 4 kph.
Start with 45 degs .

I have a used Weslo Cadense 927 treadmill. I need to adjust the the tread, it's rubbing the side.

When you purchased the treadmill it came with an allen wrench to assemble the machine. That is the adjustment tool.
Inspect the rear plastic cap (the adjustment bolts are there) make sure it is not damaged. If the plastic is broken, it will need to be replaced. This job is not easy. If it is not broken, adjust the belt as follows..
If the belt is already rubbing, locate the adjustment screw at the back of the treadmill on the side that is rubbing.Adjust that screw tuning it 1/2 turn clockwise. Move the belt manually 3 full rotations.. If it is still rubbing, turn another 1/4 turn. Again move the belt manually 3 rotations. Once the rubbing stops, run the machine slowly and watch the belt from the back of the machine..

On my Sears ProForm 730 treadmill, I cannot make the belt move to the right (it is rubbing on the left side) by turning the left-side back belt screw clockwise (in any amount). The belt is walking back...

The belt does not need to be replaced more than likely. The problem is probably because that adjustment bolt is stripped out causing it loosen and keeping it over on that side. ProForm sells star washers that help them stay steady and not slip out. I would call them and ask for a couple of star washers and a new adjustment bolt for that left side.

When walking in my Bow Flexn as in regular treadmill mode it feels like it slips under my one foot sometimes any clue as to why ?

If belt hesitates or slips when walking on unit it may be caused by either a loose walking belt or a loose drive belt. To determine the cause perform the following test: Stand beside Tread-Climber® fitness machine and set speed to 2 MPH. Step on one treadle and attempt to stop movement. If one belt stops but roller at rear and other belt continue to turn walking belt tension should be adjusted. If both belts stop but motor is still turning the drive belt tension should be adjusted.
Adjust walking belt tension at the front of the unit using the provided hex wrench on the exposed adjustment bolts located on each side of each front roller. Be sure to adjust both bolts on each roller the same amount as to not disrupt belt alignment. Tighten (turn clockwise) each adjustment bolt in full turn increments. After each adjustment, restart unit and check to see if belt slippage has been eliminated. Repeat if necessary.

Proform treadmill belt won't stay centered. travels to left and rubs against side

Adjust the tension on the right side rear using an allen wrench. Try 1/4 turn clockwise( should tighten). then run tread mill for 30 sec. to see if it centers itself. repeat again if not. if its to tight then turn the left side in a 1/4 turn
