What can I do about the sound if it went out suddenly? I have tried all connections, tried the volume button and mute, tried to see if multiple remotes were accidently pushed...I want to restore factory settings to the whole TV, but I am not sure how to do that...will it even help?
I also had this problem with the sound suddenly going out. After spending hours determining that it was not caused by my cable box, and unlocking volume codes and such, I took someone else's advice and hooked up a cheap surround sound speaker system through the audio ports on the back. Now I have sound for my tv, and it even sounds better than when the tv sound was working.
I've had the same problem.I took it to a repair shop and was told it was the control box assembly part nmb 909-kso-gf3327xa .Its a $400 part and on back order nation wide,you can't tell me with all these people having the same problem that polaroid doesn't know this is a problem.they stink.I did not get the set fixed.
Hey the same problem just happened to me today too. Polaroid is the worst for televisions, i will never buy anything but sony ever again. My parents bought a polaroid and right before the year warranty was up, the television broke. They sent it back and got a new one and guess what, it happened again. But this time they no longer had the warranty. Polaroid is the worst!!
Agreed, Polaroid makes good cameras not TV's you would think that they would make a recall but no...polaroids lost enough money to admit a defect.....Same problem with my 32'' LCD FLM-3232 sound went out a month after i bought it, i was playing rockband and bam, sound gone....

Sound has gone out on my FLM 3232 as well. Had run the audio thru my stereo connection, but cannot get it to work directly thru the tv. tried to direct source it to the cable, used the cable unlock info in the manual, all to no avail. still without sound. will likely run thru the stereo again but prefer not to.
I have the same problem. The sound just went. Tryed the usual suspects to no avail. I hooked up a seperate sound system to the audio out and that works ok. But would like to know if there is a fix?
I'm going to try resetting "volume lock" as per the manual.

I have the same problem. Unplugged the tv cause lighting storm coming.
When plugged back in the sound was gone. Can plug the headphone in
and everything is okay. Have also reset everything.

I, too, am having this problem. Went to turn the tv on and no sound. I've done some researching on the internet and have discovered this is not an uncommon problem with this particular set. Naturally, I'm very upset and wish Polaroid would've issued a recall on this model. It's unfathomable to me that the cost to replace the control box is more than what the tv is even worth (and then of course there's still no guarantee that it won't happen again).
Same exact problem. I have a Polariod FLM-3232 worked fine for 2 years, then suddenly no sound one day. I will try the surround cound solution (thanks!) but will also NEVER be buying Polariod again!

I have the same problem but my t.v is a Toshiba. the tv will come on but there is no sound I've tied to unlock the code but don't have the right one.
