No Picture Pro Scan PS 32500 (mfg. September 1998) The TV powers on. Audio works fine. However, there is no picture, no static, and no menu. Just a dark screen. My guess is a bad picture tube, but is there anything else I should look at? If it is the picture tube, what's a rough ballpark figure to have fixed (Denver, Colorado area)? Thanks.

You have no horizontal drive to fire up the high voltage section to produce brightness, possible horizontal transistor (output) shorted .they cost around 20.00.take set to shop for repair, also ask for est. of cost to repair.

TV has static but no picture. When I turn on the TV, I hear 2 clicks and static. Pushing the power button again, static stops and red LED light turns on. After 15 min. TV automatically shuts off.

Check your antenna is plugged in the right place.
Switch TV on then goto it's menu setting, if the menu appears then at least you know the screen works.
As a test, plug in a DVD player to one of the HDMI ports and try to play something. Make sure you select the proper input source from the source menu and see if you get a picture.
If you do then it narrows the problem down.
Next, from the menu, select TV source to see if picture comes.
There are a number of other sequences depending on what decoder or Viewer box you have, if it's just Freeview antenna then you may have a problem with that.
Make sure you've done the auto tune procedures too.....

No picture

Self test: Turn on and Press the input and menu buttons on front panel together and hold for 5 sec. after 5 sec the power LED will blink a 2 digit seq. This will let you know what error code. Count the first blinks then a short pause then the second blinks. Example 2-3, 3-4, 4-1. Let us know what it is.

White Noise Sound

Your problem is somewhere between the tuner and video detector circuit. The signal entering your TV carries: video, red color, and blue color as well as sychronizing pulses for color and horizontal and vertical deflection ( actually vertical sync. is derived from horizontal sync.) along with burst pulses to synchronize the color. After all these, the sound is an fm signal entwined with a pilot signal for stereo audio. WHAT a mess! After the audio passes through all this, it is detected and sent to the audio processor. If any frequency has drifted away from it's value then you loose the sound. SO... your problem could be in any of the tuned circuits or in the audio processor IC (chip). Any component changing value could creat this problem. Most likely the audio processor IC. You'd need to have the set checked out by a tech to find your problem. Stargazer
