Need to reinstall epson stylus RX580 onto Mac OSX....originally installed onto tiger before upgrade to OSX, but I read the original printer drivers from my RX580 install CD will not run on OSX...how do I reinstall rx580 and all its drivers?? I tried downloading drivers from epson support site but the install does not work.

You may be able to download a printer driver from the Epson WEB site.

If you're using compatible ink cartridges, then the driver may have updated itself over the web and made the chips you're using in the fake cartridges become devoid. I'd suggest trying original cartridges, or getting a CIS with an original cartridge piggybacking the ink tanks.

If you're using original carts (and fake ones exist that LOOK like originals) I'd call Epson.

Marky12, if the printer works fine on the vista system then you can eliminate a hardware fault. sounds like a driver or install issue. remove the printer completely from the mac (uninstall software, drivers and unplug) then go to epson.com, choose your countrey and head to the support and downloads section. Get the latest drivers for mac/tiger and reinstall the printer (make sure you have restarted the mac in between uninstall and reinstall) and most important !!! dont plug in the usb cord until the driver install tells you to
