Caller ID Light Won't Stop Blinking on Base of KX TC1713 Phone

Hi there. I've used this phone for years but not with Caller ID service from my phone company since several years ago. I just moved to a new location where Caller ID is included with my service. Ever since then, the flashing Caller ID light on the base of the phone won't go out. (The voicemail indicator goes out after I check my messages, but I can't figure out how to get the Caller ID light to stop blinking.) Any ideas?

Cannot turn off the caller ID function on the panasonic phone model No. KX-TG6051b. Have set the "off" on talking caller ID on the menu, but doesn't turn off

There's a setting under "initial setting", it allows you to adjust the talking caller-id setting on the base station. It bugged me for a while as well....having the base shouting the callers number as I was saying hello.

KX-TG9344

This is the info from the users manual, it seems a bit strange,
but claims if you set the number of rings before it answers, (for the answering system) to "2" it will stop the audible caller ID.
Here it is from the manual.

If you turn on the answering system
and set the number of rings “2” (page
38), the unit does not announce the
caller information. If “Toll saver” is
selected and there is a new message,
the unit does not announce the caller
information.
When you receive a call while on the
phone, the 2nd caller’s name is not
announced even if you subscribe to
both Caller ID and Call Waiting with
Caller ID services

Panasonic KC-TC1713 cordless phone - Voicemail light stays on

You guys had the owner manual scanned on your web site so I just RTFM ;~).

To clear the voicemail light on the base unit, first press the Redial button on the phone, then hold down the Clear button on the phone for a few seconds. The light should go out.

Here's a tip: I wrote down the above instructions on a small piece of paper and taped them to the back of the phone. You could also tape the note on the inside the battery door.

Caller ID not working

Hi,

I don't think the problem is the FSK vs. DTMF. The manual even states that the caller ID is generally received after the second ring. This is true in America. I lived in India for four months and I never ran into the problem there so... I just can't say how your provider sends the caller ID. It may be that the line is being interfered with. Do you have a DSL line attached to the same device. If so make sure that there is a filter between you phone and its connection.

I am assuming that you tested your line with the other equipment connected to the same location. You may want to reduce the problem to the simplest configuration by connecting directly to the line only no other equipment. If it works add the other equipment until the caller ID stops again. Then you know what is interfering. If you have a monitor set you could listen to the DTMF being sent make sure it is coming between the first and second ring. It is audible if it is there. If you are answering on the first ring you will not see caller ID you have to wait till after the second ring then you should see it, If BSNL is sending the same as American systems. Good luck Z

Caller ID indicator

Caller ID indicator is probably a new call notification. You should be able to review the incoming calls list even if you do not have caller ID to stop the light from flashing.
