First, make sure your TV is on the appropriate input for the plugged in HDMI cable. Once this is completed, turn your ps3 on. If the screen comes on and is black, turn the ps3 to standby (red light is on) and hold the front power button until the console beeps a second time. This will usually force the ps3 to recognize the hdmi input and will bring up the menu to configure the AV settings.
did you set to AV 1, 2, 3 or DVD input, it is depend to where it connected to..whether you connect to the AV input front panel, or rear. if not sure you can connect it to the front panel and sequentially sets the AV source, if still the same. you can connect the cable to the DVD input should be the type of cable TV .. 1:Insert the AV Multi Out plug on the Wii AV Cable into the AV Multi Out connector on the back of the console. 2: Insert the RCA plugs on the Wii AV Cable into the input connectors on the TV. Plug the colored connectors into the following inputs:
Yellow = Video Input White = Audio Input Left (or Mono) Red = Audio Input Right 3:Once the cables are inserted and the Wii is powered on, you must find the Input Select for your TV to view the game (it is likely not going to be seen on Channel 3 or 4). Typically this is found by pressing the TV/Video button on the Television's front panel or remote control. If you have more than one input channel, keep pressing TV/Video until you see the display from the Wii. If you do not have a TV/Video button, then the input could be labeled something different. Some other common input selects to look for on the TV or remote are: Input, Input Select, EXT, AUX, or a channel such as 00 or 99.
IM GUESSING THIS MIGHT BE AN RCA TELEVISION? if you dont have an rca in hook up on the tv give up and buy a new tv or you can find an older item what it is is a switch that has an rca input and a coax output it was used to hook up the older video game systems it is still sold in most stores and that will work if you do have rca inputs and lost the remote you need to get a universal remote to switch the input on certain older rca tv's you could go to channel 00 and it would set it to the input with the switch you shoudl be able to use it by putting the tv on channel 3
The AV Multi Out plug that is included with the Wii will allow you to connect the console to most televisions or video cassette recorders (VCR). First, look at the back of your television AND your VCR and see if you have colored holes label "Input". Though most TVs have them, almost all VCRs do as well.
Audio/Video (AV) inputs are located on the front or back of the TV or VCR.
They are smooth silver posts with the inside showing a color, usually red, white and yellow.
Look for inputs marked Audio and Video IN.
The image on the left features stereo audio inputs. Some televisions have only one audio input. Click here for help setting up a mono audio connection.
Do NOT connect your system to anything marked OUT.
Insert the AV Multi Out plug on the Wii AV Cable into the AV Multi Out connector on the back of the console.
Insert the RCA plugs on the Wii AV Cable into the input connectors on the TV. Plug the colored connectors into the following inputs:
Yellow = Video Input White = Audio Input Left (or Mono) Red = Audio Input Right

Connecting to a VCR, DVD-R, Cable Box, etc.
In order to connect a video game system through a device such as a VCR, DVR, cable or satelite box, it must have Video and Audio "inputs." While most VCRs and VCR/DVD combos have these inputs, other devices typically have "Outputs" which will not work for playing your Wii console. Please verify the device you are attempting to use has these holes.
While many cable/satelite boxes and DVRs may have "inputs," accessing them can be difficult. Please consult the instruction manual for the device you are connecting to, for more information.
Insert the AV Multi Out plug on the Wii AV Cable into the AV Multi Out connector on the back of the console.
Insert the RCA plugs on the Wii AV Cable into the input connectors on the VCR. Make sure you are plugging the connectors into the holes labeled"Input" or "In". Holes labeled"Output" or "Out" will not work. Plug the colored connectors into the following inputs:
Yellow = Video Input White = Audio Input Left (or Mono) Red = Audio Input Right

Once the cables are inserted and the Wii is powered on, put your TV on the channel you use to watch movies (usually channel 3 or 4). Put in a video tape and play the movie. When you see the movie playing, press stop (do not power off the VCR!) and proceed to the next step.
You will now need to find the Input Select for your VCR. This is usually a button on the original remote control that is labeled Input Select, AUX, Input, EXT, Line In, or a high or low channel. For more information on locating your input select, click here.
swap your av cable with a friends and see if it still happens. if it doesnt u no that the av cable is broken and youll have to buy a new one, if it still happens, then theres a problem with your wii. it could possibly be the graphics card is damaged from overheating, or just bashed around. nintendo will propably fix it for free if the wiis dodgy
I am not an HDTV expert but I believe they are all backwards compatible so the fact it is HD should not be a problem. Have you tried a vcr or dvd player on the same hook ups? It is possible you are trying to use a video input that is already in use? I know on my TV I have the DVD hooked up with an S-video cable to "Video 2". Right next to the S-video hookup are the red, yellow, white RCA jacks. On my TV these can't be used when the S-video is in use so I have to have the games hooked up to the front panel "Video 3". I would disconnect everything and try hooking the N64 up in each input to see if you can find one that works.
Not shure what you or asking, if how to hock this up well , it's so easy, I've never though about it.
For the bell express hook it up with av cabling to input 1,
For the dvd hock it up at input 2 with av cabling again
for the gamming system well input 3 or the front input's with it's supplyed cabling.
To watch ether or other source redecrect your ptv to soource solected to watch witch source your using, exc for satelite bring the source on your ptv to input 1 and etccc..... for the other sources, I hope this helps
