How do i delete a message on Microsoft outlook 7, for good. when i delete i just get a line thru the email.

Hi,
Normally, when you delete a message in an IMAP account, it gets a line through it, until you completely eradicate the message by purging the Inbox. (Many consider this an irritating "feature".) The message does not go to the "Deleted Items" folder, the "Trash" or anywhere else. However, after purging, a message that was marked for deletion will be completely erased.
To permanently delete the items marked for deletion, do the following:
Click a folder in your IMAP e-mail account (e-mail account: The server name, user name, password, and e-mail address used by Outlook to connect to an e-mail service. You create the e-mail account in Outlook by using information provided by your administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).). On the Edit menu, point to Purge Deleted Messages. Do one of the following:
Click Purge Marked Items in "folder".
Only items marked for deletion in the folder that you are in are purged from the IMAP mail server.
Click Purge Marked Items in "e-mail account".
All items marked for deletion in any folder for this IMAP e-mail account are purged from the IMAP mail server.
Click Purge Marked Items in All Accounts.
All items marked for deletion in any folder for any IMAP e-mail account are purged from the IMAP mail server.
Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

How to delete multiple emails on mac air

Two options for Deleting multiple mail messages:

1. The video below shows how to delete a single mail message. To delete multiple mail message you would do the same thing except to delete several mail messages that are in chronological order you would select the top message...press and hold shift....and scroll down to the last message you want to delete and click on that message which will highlight all messages in between the firs and last message you selected. Release the Shift Key. And Delete.

2. To delete multiple messages that aren't in chronological order click on the first message you want to delete. The press and hold the Option Key (Windows Key if you have 3rd Party Keyboard) and select each message you want to delete and it will highlight all those messages individually. After you select all messages you want to delete let go of the Option Key and click on the Delete icon in the mail menu bar.

Important:
This places the deleted emails in your Trash folder within mail. To permanently delete the messages...Right Click on the Trash Icon or hold down Control and then Click on the Trash Icon and select Erase Deleted Items from the drop down menu and they will be permanently deleted and won't take up space on your hard drive.

Can't delete an e-mail from my iphone aol

Hi,
Here are a couple things you can try:
Go to settings>Mail Options>Choose your AOL account
Select Advanced>Delete messages

"Trash" will probably already be selected, but select it *again*. It won't look like anything happened, but if you go back and try to delete an email, it should work now.

If that doesn't work, try this:
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > your AOL account > Advanced > Deleted Mailbox
Select "Trash" (or Deleted Items or Deleted Messages) under "On the Server"
OR
Under "On My iPhone", select "Trash".
Then tap "Advanced", then press the Home button.

If neither of those options work, let us know, or see these pages for a few other suggestions: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8519565

Hope this helps!

Emails not being received as message states file is full but it isn't

Hi,
The server might be full and not able to receive any more mail. You can open Outlook Express, click on "tools", "accounts", left-click on your account that's listed under "mail", click on "properties", click on the "advanced" tab, go down to the botttom under "delivery", then either uncheck "leave a copy of messages on server" or "remove from server" after so many days, or "remove from server when deleted from "deleted items"", whichever you prefer. Then click "apply".
Then you can make sure that your mail is being deleted from your 'Deleted Items" folder each time you exit Outlook Express" by clicking on "Tools", "Options", the "Advanced" tab, "Maintenance", make sure "Empty messages from the 'Deleted Items' folder on exit" is checked. Click "ok".Then close and reopen Outlook Express, and you should be able to receive your mail.
Please let me know if it helps.
Thanks

My problem is my 3230 cellphone sometimes it appear memory full closed some application.

You may want to delete the following items regularly to avoid memory getting
low:
• Messages from the Inbox, Drafts, and Sent folders in Messaging.
• Retrieved e-mail messages from the phone memory.
• Saved browser pages.
• images and photos in images.
To delete contact information, calendar notes, call timers, call cost timers, game
scores, or any other data, go to the respective application to remove the data.
If you are deleting multiple items and another of the following notes are shown:
Not enough memory to perform operation. Delete some data first. or Memory low.
Delete some data. try deleting items one by one (starting from the smallest item).
Clearing the calendar memory - To remove more than one event at a time, go to
the Month view and select Options→Delete entry→

Deleted messages showing up on laptop

In Outlook Express, click on "Tools" then "Accounts...".
Click on the "Mail" tab, then click on your Yahoo account, then click on "Properties".
Click on the "Advanced" tab. I assume that "Leave a copy of messages on server" is already checked. Put a check next to "Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'".
Before going on the road, empty your Deleted Items folder, and check for new messages.
