I have just moved homes and never used a ceramic hob before, i have not been able to cook for the past four days because i do not know how to turn on my schott ceran ceramic hob. I can't find any knobs on it and the previous owner has not left a manual. Please help, i am getting desperate.

could be a simple thermostat turning it down/off when the set temp is reached

Try turning off the power for a short while to allow the p c board to re set itself turn it back on and individually turn on each elements for a few minutes. Good luck

Ceramic cooktops need the correct type of pots or they leave marks,check your instruction manual.

An SE error message on the display of a Samsung ceramic hob means the control panel sensor has been on for too long.
There are a few reasons why the sensor could be saying it's been on for too long:

• Touching the key area for more than 10 seconds.
• Leaving a wet cloth on the touch key area.
• Spilling a liquid on the key area.
• By touching 2 or more keys together. All of these can be fixed by turning the hob power off at the wall, then back on again.

You've probably accidentally activated the child-lock "L". It would help to know which model you have as the deactivation method can vary on different models. However, this is the process for activation or deactivation on the EKI-848 which looks like the one in the above picture:

Switching off the childproof lock

1. Press the ON key.

2. Then immediately press the Plus key of the cooking zone at the left-back and the Minus key of the cooking zone at the right-back simultaneously.

3. Then press the Minus key in order to deactivate the childproof lock. The "L" will go off.

If this doesn't work or you have a different model, please post back and I will let you know the correct deactivation method for your model.

Yes you can use any sause pan on the cook top. You will not damage it at all.

hi im gerbee my suggestion is replace the pcv control wat brand u have,always also in philipines the electric hob is so very sensitive,the pcv cotrol is not repairable.or next time u by a new one gas cooktop more ok compare to electric ceramic hob, or use electric ceramic hob w/knob control compare to sensor type,i think the part of the sensor or pcv control is so very expensive,that why i buy an another one.dont try to repair more difficult to com.tnx

I have a Neff T4344N0/08. I cannot stop all four hobs flashing - ie: I press the 'on' button all four flash, I then choose which one I want to use plus the number but they all keep flashing instead of stopping after the usual three or four. Please help - have I pressed something I shouldn't, perhaps a child lock?
