Bought this at the Quadrafire pellet stove store to turn on and off the stove. I have two wires going to the stove frome the non-programmable that came with the stove. Does anyone know what two wires go to the stove and what terminal it hooks to. Thanks Robert

Hintered is correct, R and W. this is for heat thermostat control only. Turning on/off is not possible on all pellet stoves, so this will depend on your pellet stove. Check with the manufacturer of your stove to see if it has on/off control functions remotely.

Use the terminals marked R and W on the thermostat for basic heat only thermostat function.

What are the pros and cons of operating the Quadrafire Mt Vernon AE pellet stove in manual mode?

They probably cannot suggest running it on 'manual' due to liability reasons....leaving home for an extended time and forgetting its on manual...comes to mind.

What may be suggested is to make sure ANY and ALL safety controls still function to shut off fuel (pellet) flow in the manual mode as an extended overtemp condition is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of damage to a heating system or to the structure within which it is installed.

I think its a judgement call on your part once you determine you pretty well KNOW the full and complete operation of the device. The key to that statement is KNOWING WITHOUT A DOUBT the FULL operation of the system.

I also would NEVER recommend to a customer to operate it in the manual position.

Trying to hook up a RTH2310B thermostat to a wood pellet stove with only two wires.. How do I know where to connect them too?

Hey Brad432, this is what i did with the same RTH2310B thermostat and my harmon stove. You must have the heat sensor that plugs in the back of the stove to start with. Take your new wire from the stove to your thermostat, red to rh, white to one side of your sensor then other side of sensor to W on your thermostat. On your stove side set your room temp as high as it will go and let your programmable thermostat set the room temp. Works good for mine. Good Luck

What do you need to do to put a woopellet stove pipe thru wall

I'm confused by your question. If you are asking what is involved in installing a pellet stove well it varies greatly from model to model. Generally speaking, most pellet stoves will horizontally terminate behind the stove itself as opposed to running thru the roof like a woodstove does. Pellet stoves require the use of electricity for numerous functions, one of which is power venting thru this rear terminated pipe. As far as clearances to combustables, you will find that pellet stoves are very forgiving in that department, with minimal clearances required. Once again all stoves are different and they all are rated indepentently so my best advice to you is find a quality pellet stove dealer and go in and see them. They will be more than happy to answer your questions. Avoid the big box stores as they have pellet stoves at a good price but offer NO service or installation and believe me, I am in the business, you will need professional service at some point during the life of your stove so don't save a couple bucks by going cheap. You will be happier for it down the road. Good luck.
