Not cooling enough Amana bottom freezer BB120TW

Amana purchased 4/16/99 Refrigerator temp is running 36 to 44 degrees, freezer runs 22 to 37 degrees. Fan and compressor seem to be both running. Temp varies, but not any obvious reason for variation. Can feel fan blowing in each area. Any ideas what might be wrong or what to check and how to do it? We are not able to get a repair person out for over two weeks . . . . Thank you

SOURCE: Amana refrigerator not running but light and water dispenser work

Hi, Remove the front kick plate at the bottom and locate the defrost timer box. You will see a hole and there will be a round switch you can turn. Turn in clock wise and see if the refrigerator starts.
If it starts, the timer needs changed. If it does not starts. locate the cold control (thermostat)
Check continuity on the switch. If it is the on position and the circuit is open, you need to replace it.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Frost is building up in bottom freezer. Appliance is running nonstop. I believe that the freezer drawer has been shut completely. Foods in refrigerator section are fine; foods in freezer section are...

Frost can build up for multiple reasons. Most common is the start os an iceblock. Other reasons can include condensation from door being left open or opening too much. It can also happen from backsplash from the inlet tube for the ice maker. If the fridge is running non stop. It sounds like the ice block is forming and the temps are not getting to the program temps. If at factory setting the freezer should be at or around 0 degrees and fridge should be between 42 and 48 degrees. Has the fridge shutdown at all to go into defrost? The defrost timer may have went out and is causing an iceblock. If there is an ice block always change bimetal/ defrost thermostat.

Amana Temp Assure bottom freezer model BB120TW---about 10yrs old; ice forming throughout freezer: refrigerator works fine. Diane Curry

I am having a similiar problem. How is your seal - check the gasket and see if there is any separation from the door where air could get in. I had our gasket replaced several years ago but the door was not level and the seal pulled away from the freezer in the upper left corner allowing air to get in and make snow in the unit. Now the compressor has trouble kicking on after the auto defrost. We hear an electric buzzing sound every 20 seconds or so. Fans run but the unit doesn't cool. If we pull it out and unplug, wait and plug back in it usually starts back up. I have read that rather than replacing the whole compressor we may be able to just replace the relay, overload and run capacitor assembly - looking into that now...

Amana ARB2517CC Freezer is running same temp as refrigerator 45-50 degrees. Any thoughts?

Check your coils underneath for build up, check the condensor fan to see if it is running underneath, check your evaporator fan in the freezer. good luck.
