Tomtom930 wont stay charged..cahnged the battery

an alternator wont help if you battery is shot or very low charge, charging battery from just alt is not recommended.if you use a jump from a good 12volt source and it stays running more than likely it's your battery

You must have hooked the battery cables up in reverse.

power TO the alt. is probably not there . turn on the key ( don't start ) check the terminals on the plug at the alt. there should be power on at least one terminal if not , you have found the problem

several possibilities here... always try easiest/cheapest first.. A. loose or corroded battery terminals. B.check water level in battery , add if low then try a charge..C. could be bad cell in battery have load tested, and finally D. alternator may be putting out inadequate charge, have checked

the battery wont stay charged? if youre putting in a fully charged battery and your car runs, but then the battery slowly dies, the problem will be your alternator. the alternator is what maintains a car batteries charge. try replacing the alternator. hope this helps.

Remove the batttery and check the voltage. if the voltage is below the indicated level-- 3.6V- then you have to cahnge the battery as it might have developed reverse polarity and not allowing charge to go into.

Now remove battery clean the contacts, connect adapter and measure the volage on the tterminals in the phone ,if the voltage is OK then the battery is faulty but if the voltage is present corect then your battery must be changed, claim for free replacement if in warranty.

TRY TO PUT A ORIGINAL BATTREY IN UR CELL PHONE.

be sure battery is charged check gauge on dash if it drops below 12 volts when you attempt to crank the car charge new battery also another quick test is turn on headlights if they go off when you hit the key battery is dead

Your charging port is probably going bad. It seems to happen fairly regulary on the lg VU

you can get it repaired or get a workaround external battery charger.

OK. Here is the fix.

Do a hard reset of the TomTom 930 (paper clip in the reset hole on the bottom). Then start the procedure over again. Mine finally worked.
