The 2488 requires a start point and end point in order to master down. The start point, by default is zero (the beginning of the song) so you will NOT have to create one, HOWEVER, you MUST provide an end point. The end point is wherever you wish the song to end, so, roll the BIG wheel to the end of the song, then, press LOCATE SET and OUT simultaneously. You have just now marked your out point and thus it will master the whole song. NOTE: If your song is 4:23, then the out point will be/should be a bit longer (a second or two- or even more- that's up to you) than that depending on where the song/music actually begins after the zero mark, therefore, make SURE you roll the BIG wheel enough to encompass the WHOLE SONG. The counter will reflect the time/length as a result of how far you roll the wheel. I hope this helps. One last note, do ALL this at the MIXDOWN prior to MASTERING.

I am trying to record in multi track mode-want to know how to record for example vocals on track one then without erasing the vocals add for example harmony or guitar so i get two things on one track. At...

How multitrack recording works is assigning each recording to a different track. A way around this is to record the vocals to track one, then your harmony to track two. Save that as a single recording, or mixdown, then open that saved mixdown to track one. You may need to be connected to a computer to do this.

I use the same technique when using Cool Edit Pro (outdated, yes, but I've been using it for 4 years, and I know most of the ins and outs), especially on the guitar tracks, where for studio sound, you've gotta use 4 total tracks. Putting two tracks together frees up your processor, and uses less in the way of effects, as well.

Hope that helps!
