My Wii console fell and will no longer read disks. When I put a disk in, after a minute or so a message will pop up saying, "An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disk, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting." While the disk is spinning I can hear clearly it is not spinning right.

Had the same problem and I made a video going through the troubleshooting process and how I ended up fixing it by replacing the DVD ROM.

Is the disk dirty or scratched? This error commonly occurs when a damaged disk is unable to be read by the system. If your other games work, then the cause is likely the disk.

Some older Wii units also have trouble with Dual Layer Discs, which pack more info onto a disk like Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Metroid Prime. If your Wii is having trouble reading a dual layer disc you can try Nintendo's Wii lens cleaning kit. the other resolution for this is to change the laser on the system but it will cost you for that. Try to clean the lens first it might read the new disk.

check the guides that come with the wii console if you dont have them then write down the error code or error message and search for anything online

I would definatly contact Nintendo customer support. It sounds like your Disc drive on the Wii is going bad. They will either fix or replace your wii, if it is still under warranty then they will do so at no cost to you.

I would recommend that you take the console to a game store and get them to have a look at it, it sounds like there might be a fault with the CD drive or the laser not reading the discs properly

when did this happen and when did you get your wii becuase production of wiis was rushed during christmas so the early games as super smash brawl usually after awile gets an error
