Unscrew the entire lens assembly from the body. The inner lens cannot get debris inside it but the outside of it and the inside of the protector lens can. It's a good idea to do this cleaning in your bathroom with the shower on hot but not visibly steamy as this will cut the airborne dust by 90%.

How come Panasonic does not guarantee their own product?
I have had many cameras in my life and this is a first one with this type of problem. My friend bought the same type just one step better ZS8 at the same time and he is facing the same problem as well, within one year just past the warranty like me. Is it really a water spot? It is getting smaller, when I zoom in and it is moving to the side while I'm zooming in. Is it on the sensor or is it on the lens? Is there any Panasonic reply to this problem?

Dropped my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 in a stream - its dried out & works fine except there's a stain on the inside of the lens. How is this best cleaned? tHX

You cannot clean the inside of the lens. If it must be cleaned, it needs to be disassembled by a Panasonic service center, cleaned, reassembled and re-calibrated, and then returned to you at an enormous cost. You need to determine if it's worth it.

Lumix DMC TZ10 Dust in lens. Is there a solutions for internaly cleaning the lens. I read that this is a more common problem for this camera. Are there solutions to prefent this? I always use a case to...

The only way to clean the lens internally is by disassembling the camera. As this is difficult and easy to damage the camera if doing yourself or expensive if sending for repair, I would leave it unless it is causing bad problems with the picture. You could try putting the camera in a ziplock plastic bag before putting inside the case to keep dust out.

Dust inside the lens - how to disassemble and clean?

You can't take the lens apart. Even if you could, you don't have the tools or expertise to get it back together and properly align the lens elements.

Panasonic lumix dmc-lz7 lens barrel doesn't move

Hi Sarah I am Vortash it shouldnt need to be a new camera a good clean out by an engineer should cure the problem provided you havent tried to force the lens back in if it was out , he will clean it with white spirit or alchahol and re set the lens mechanism and it shuold be fine .. but get an estimate first as the economics may be in favour of a new camera if it would cost too much .. in the uk here we charge approx $25 for that but it may be more over the pond .. regards Vortash
