DVD Rubber Band for Load/Eject

I've been having problems loading and getting the dvd to raise and play. Also ejecting is a pain. Well, I took it all apart and the rubber band seems to have a lot of slack in it. When I made a figure 8 with it it pulled it right up no problem. Just needed a bit of tension. But it wond go backwards and eject. Where can I find a replacement rubber band??????

Electronic shop, who sell electronic parts, have it! just bring to then the rubber belt. see to it that the rubber you're buying is a bit smaller (in diameter, about 2-3mm. smaller). goodluck.... check its thickness too.

I have a dvd stuck in the slot. It won't play or eject. I hear the tv trying to eject but nothing happens. How can I fix it?

You will need to open up both dvd case and dvd player! the rubber type band that turns the wheels to open tray is bad, not tight enough to turn wheels! This rubber type band is located at the front of tray. you might be able to get tray to open by taping the top front of player after you push eject, just not hard enough to bend case.

Have a Dual Multimedia Reciever everything works fine but dvd won't eject. What can I do to get it to eject?

Most DVD eject system are powered by a small rubber band that can break or just fall off. Going inside the unit will reveal if it has.

DVD won't eject

Manually pull the door open. If you can see the motor spinning in there it may have a rubber "band" that looks like and O-ring. If that is broken then it can be replaced but it is a difficult manuver with a screwdriver. They tend to dry rot like all rubber parts and fail...

I have a Sony DVD/CD Rewritable drive that tries to eject but doesn't. It is model # DW-D22A. Is this a problem I might be able to fix or would I be better off getting a new drive?

It may have a jam, there is a small pin hole under the tray usually on the right side.. straighten out a paper click and press it in there with some force. This is the manual eject. See if it resumes normal operation after that.

Dvd won't play or eject

If you want to get the dvd out
you can try this:
First turn of you dvd player at the mains, Then power it up, But the moment it powers up press the eject button a few times so it doesn't start to load. If it doesn't work the first time try it one more time since you may not get the hang of it at first.
then you dvd should eject.
With dvd players like this, corrupt, copied or really scratched dvds may make your dvd player do this.

CAnt eject DVD disc. Get message ''blocked'' Machine will play the DVD but when I try to eject nothing happens other than the message. What size lump hammer should I use?

if you want to just get the disc out there should be a tiny hole on the front of the drive where you can insert a paper clip firmly to eject the drive.

I would also check the rubber band / cogs by taking a look inside and see if there are any issues.

Also if you reboot do you get the same problem ?

Upside down dvd inserted

FYI - This might damage the unit, but if you really need to get that DVD out then you can try this at your own risk!

Try unpluging the unit, then plug it back in and press the power button and a split second later press the eject button. This all needs to be done quickly otherwise the unit will try to load the disc.

Or

You can try letting the unit load the DVD. When the unit says "Please eject disc. Playback feature may not be avalible on this disc," press the eject button.

DVD will not eject the tray

Open up the unit find the load and unload motor on the DVD carriage and turn it manually and this should eject the tray. You may even have to unscrew the carriage to get to the bottom of it to access the load and unload motor.
