My gas dryer has no heat

My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II gas dryer began taking longer to dry clothes. After about 2 weeks, it has no heat on any setting. I have had it for several years and dry 6 to 8 loads per week. Could it be the heating element, and if so, can that be replaced? If not, should I just buy a new dryer or call a repairman? I do not want to pay a repairman if he is going to tell me to buy a new dryer. Thanks. Debra

Long dry times are a venting problem. if no heat at all it could be your ignitor, a thermal fuse, or the secondary gas coils, all are replaceable and reasanoblyy cheap between 30-90 dollars usually so its up to u it u want to repair it.. if long dry times i would unplug the venting from the rear and dry a load if it heats faster than u know ur venting is clogged and u might wanna clean ur ducting and replace that venting tube. also u can go outside while running and see or feel if air is being pushed out while its running hope this helps let me know how it goes

My Whirlpool GOld Ultimate Care II electric dryer is not drying well any longer. It is 5 years old and a load must be run 2-3 times to get it to dry. Please help.

it could be your heating element but if you use dryer sheets take your lint trap out and see how well water will run thru it it may need to be washed in hot soapy water hope this helps

Have heat & tumbling but will take 3 hrs to dry a load/ no jeans

Likely that your Dryer vent is clogged up. Especially if its long. Check that by hooking up a shopvac to one end with duct tape to seal any air leaks between the vent pipe and the vac hose. Turn it on and check the other end of the vent pipe for suction. If its faint then there may be a crapload of lint in there or a birds nest. Compressed air in the pipe with an agitating device may work or shopvac hose if run is short. Be prepared for a mess on either end.

I have a whirlpool gold ultimate care II electric dryer and have to dry everything on high twice to get it dried. any suggestions?

first how is the clothes out of the washer? That might not be spinning fast enough in final spin. When was the last time the dryer vents was cleaned. Do you have a flow out the vent? If so then something might be going on with sensors.

Make sure that the vents are cleaned to include outside. Where it hook on to the dryer make sure that the housing is cleaned also. That should take care of the problem. Thankyou and if you need more help let us know.
