Just bought 32" vizio lcd hd tv. the AC power cord has a 3 prong plug on one end that plugs in back of tv. the other end of cord has no prongs, but 3 holes (female end). i can't plug into my cable box...no port to support it. what am i doing wrong.
What you have is a female to female adapter, what you need is a female(to tv) and male to plug(wall) if you have an old computer kicking around take the power cord from it and it should work. What you have is a female to female adapter, what you need is a female(to tv) and male to plug(wall) if you have an old computer kicking around take the power cord from it and it should work.

You can get one online for only a few bucks...look at the male plug on the set, there are 3 kinds of plugs used, one is like a computer monitor 3 prong plug, another is a 2 prong round on one side and square on the other and the 3rd is a 3 prong but its rounded on the ends, unfortunatly there are a few models that use a transformer hopefully yours isn't one like that...here is the most common one in Westinghouse....https://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-Power-Cord-Cable-for-Westinghouse-LCD-TV-10-Feet-10Ft-Extra-Long-/172208931835?epid=1970030091&hash=item281873c3fb:g:wb4AAOSwIzNXOfJD
Frede?
Read this well. Walk away from the computer, put in your hand the AC cord of the TV, being sure it is not plugged in. Then look at the end of the cord opposite to the two-pronged AC plug. Then, you look on the back of the TV (sometimes the side) for a shape that is about the same to fit tightly. Good luck.
Solution for many "jittery" or "shaky" or "shivering" monitor problems...
Be sure there are no power AC cords in direct contact with or very close to the monitor cable anywhere along its entire length. If no help, be sure the monitor and monitor cable are not very close to a wall that may have an AC power lines running in it. Also, be sure that you are using a "grounded" (3 prong) power cord, that is is not plugged into a "2 prong" adapter that eliminates the ground ("earth") prong, and be sure that your power circuit that you are plugged in to is properly grounded.
You may have an earth ground problem with your house electrical wiring-- third prong in AC socket. Get a 3-prong to 2-prong plug adapter ( also called an "AC-cheater plug") and put on TV cord. Try again.
The first thing I would suspect is a noisy AC supply. Try using a
ground adaptor. Sounds technical, but if you every went to Grandpa's
he may have been using a few and you just didn't know what they were.
They are commonly used to adapt a 3 prong electrical plug to a 2 prong
AC outlet. If your TV does have a 3 prong AC cord, give this a try
before you do anything. It's a cheap solution and often works like a
charm.
i have a l32wd22 rca -----went out -- the plug from the power cord to the power supply [ a two prong jack on the side of power supply was loose]
i bent the pins slightly then plug it back in and also taped it in place---now it works fine
