LG LFC23760ST Side by Side Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator Logo

The fuse in my LG refrigerator burned out and i have had the hardest time tracking down a new fuse. The fuse is soldered to the circuit board and rather than pay $180 for a new circuit board with the fuse... i figured i would simply desolder the old fuse and solder in a replacement. Problem is... i can't find it anywhere. It lists (250V/9A, 125V, 15A)... which i take as meaning i could use either one. I have been mostly looking for a 15Amp 125 Volt fuse cut can't seem to track it down... plus i don't know the difference between a fast acting fuse, a slow burn fuse, a ceramic fuse, etc. Also if i install a 15A 250V ceramic fuse... will that work just was well?

Radio Shak had it. I just did the same thing with mine and figured id try and give it a go myself. Turned out, $20 at Radioshak for a solder gun, fuse holder, new fuse and an hour of my time was worth it.
The difference between a "Fast acting" and "Slow burn" (also known as Time-Delay fuse) is one is for a resistive load, and the other an inductive load. Resistive loads are like lights and circuit boards, where the amperage is relatively constant. Inductive loads (time-delay) are motors, things that require a large in-rush current to get moving like the compressor on your fridge. Hope this helps.

I did this today. I bought part number 2701030 (fuse) and part number 2700739 (fuse holder. Cut the ends of the old fuse at the fuse. This way I didn't have to de-solder. Soldered the holder to the exposed nubs. inserted a new fuse. Put the board back into the refrigerator and it works.

Hi, I have the same problem. Where did u get this fuse. Are these LG part numbers or radioshack

My fridge light wouldn't turn on even tho the freezer light did. Couldn't locate a fuse anywhere. Checked the board over and found a small burn. Simply soldered a jump over to bypass it and it worked like a charm :) good luck!

http://www.action-electronics.com/fuses.htm

good luck (p.s. go to radio shack while you still can and get the fuse holder, for future replacement.)

There are a few of these same problems listed here and the solutions are overall right on. This site rocks. My frige is the LG 2376OST, french door freezer bottom. The panel is left side back of fridge. Open it up, carefully pull out the various wire fixings on the board, and you'l note the 2 fuses at the bottom left of the board. For me, it was the 15 amp (larger - 1-1/4" size) fuse thatw as the culprit. Go to a hardware store, buy a new 15amp fuse. Can be 250 Volts but it HAS to be 15 amp. You'll be hard pressed to find 125 v in that size in the US. Solder it on. I paid a local computer store to do it for me for 25 bucks. Total cost was 40 bucks. Although I was dumb - I called the fridge dudes over who LG recommends and as everyone says in this forum, they immediately said "new board - need to order it." Don't even call the fridge guys. Do what I say above and you'll be fixed in hours - not day. Thanks to this board. Nice job folks.

Where can i buy a circuit board for my lg refrigerator model lfc23760st

No need to buy a new main control board !
The problem is mainly from the fuse that soldered in the main control board, go to buy a "125V 15A or 250V 15A" fuse ($5.00 a pack of 5 pcs), cut the burnt fuse from the board, re-soldered the new fuse into the board, the refrigerator work again. you save $80 for the labour cost of the technician and $180 for the cost of a new main board.

Refrigerator does not appear to be getting power, no lights, don't here motor running

If you have no lights or hear the motor running, I would check the house circuit breaker first and measure the voltage at the outlet. If that is within specs then the one thing that could cause your problem in the refrigerator is the power control board P/N: 6871JB2047A

No power is going to the refrigator. Checked the outlet and breaker.

See the other posted solutions. I just had the same problem with my fridge. It was a blown fuse. The fuse is hard-wired to the board so you can't just pop it out and install a new one (which is the way a fuse SHOULD be installed). But, there are posts that explain how you can solder in a fuse holder that will allow you to replace the fuse if it ever blows again. The circuit board is on the back, on the left side, about half-way up. Unplug the fridge, remove the board, install the fuse holder as a bypass for the original fuse. Soldering isn't that hard - I hadn't done any soldering on a circuit board before today. You can get everything you need at RadioShack or a chain home improvement store. For less than $20 I was able to get it working again.

My LG REFRIGERATOR stopped working all together, no lights, nothing is working at all. Checked the plug and it works fine.

ctmarrero was correct! There are two fuses on the mother board, and the larger one was blown. I took off the mother board (easy) and soldered off the old fuse and replaced it with a new fuse holder that will allow me to replace it next time without soldering. The fuse is a 250V 15A. This cost me less than $5. The new "PCB Assembly Main" EAP3533829" board cost $181.82 on easyappliance parts.com. Bad design by LG, should have had a fuse holder so it can be replaced easily.....

Lfc23760st stopped working

You have a blown fuse on the main board. It can be replaced with a new 20 amp glass fuse using a soldering iron. Remove the cover and check the fuse if it is burned that is your problem

I HAVE A 250V/9A FUSE TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF THE BOARD THAT HAS BURNED OUT..I CAME HOME FROM WORK AND THE FRIDGE WASN'T WORKING. OPENED UP THE CIRCUIT BOARD PANEL AND THERE IT WAS.. CAN THE FUSE BE REPLACED...

Just replace the fuse, I just did it today (3/6/10). Unf. Radio shack only had an 8A slow-burn fuse so I used that for now but the fridge is working. I nuked the leads on the fuse so I soldered on some of the lead of a thermal fuse that I also got at Radio Shack (I just used the leads and tossed the fuse). I also put the fuse inside of a harness in case it needs to be replaced again, no soldering. Good luck!

My LG refrigerator has a blown fuse on the circuit board. Is the fuse replaceable, it looks as though it is soldered to the board?

Yes. This fuse is replaceable, but, you will heed to De-solder the contacts, in order to remove the damaged fuse. this can be very challenging. If you are not an avid user of a soldering iron, i would just simply replace the board. If the soldering is not done correctly, this will cause the board to short, causing a spark.

I would , also, verify that the fuse is available for a non technician to purchase. Most vital components will not be available for purchase, if the purchaser is not a certified tech.
