I think you need to check the color settings on your new LG TV and ensure all cables are securely connected. If the issue persists, you don't have further options except to contact LG support for assistance.
Connect the Wii and the DVD player to different ports on the TV to and any other device to the port in which the Wii and the DVD player were connected to check if the issue is with the port.
If other devices also display in black and white after connecting them to the port to which the Wii and the DVD player were originally connected then the ports require servicing.
I figured it out,
The solution to my problem was to update my video cables for my new HDTV.
I found out through trial and error that I can only have one Anolog device hooked up to the TV because with two Anolog devices hooked up the same way it must confuse the TV somehow making one of the inputs showing up in Black and White, So I purchased the color coded AV jacks and everthing works like a charm now.
can you use the vga source from your laptop to the pc input on the LG a standard vga monitor cable will do then set your laptop to output the vga signal
Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.
The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.
All you have to do is connect those yellow red and white cables to one of your tv inputs in the back either video 1 2 or 3 and you should have both your dvd player and cable working. Make sure your black cable is connected through coaxial in the back of your tv and the yellow white and red cables from the dvd player to video 1 in the back of your tv if anything else just let me know...
Depending what cables you have, try plugging only the yellow cable into "video out", I previously had red, white, and yellow cables plugged into "comopents out" and only got black and white. Doing only the yellow into video out gave me color.
