2004 Triumph Sprint ST water in the fuel cap recess

there are two drain holes in the recess and these get blocked up which prevents water from draining. as a result, water enters the fuel tank! you need to unblock the drain holes and clear the blockages. i recently did this by poking a thin wire down the hole. sometimes, the ******* at the bottom of the tank that the overflow pipes are attached to can corrode and become blocked as a result. again, these can be cleared with a pin / fine wire. hope this helps.

ONE of my burners on the coleman grill has low flames, the other burner is normal. what do I do?

The low jet probably has a partially blocked jet. It isn't unusual for paraffin or petrol fuelled burners to become blocked and the jets have to be cleaned regularly with a jet cleaner or pricker - a thin hard steel wire clamped in a pressed steel holder. Modern or premium products often have an internal jet cleaning mechanism built in.

It is rare for propane or butane powered appliances to suffer blocked jets but it does happen sometimes. If the jet is accessible it can usually be cleaned with a pricker of the right size but if it isn't accessible or the pricker provides only a temporary cure, the appliance will need partially dismantling and the jet (or nipple) removed for cleaning.

Blocked overflow on fuel tank

I don't know what vehicle/equipment you're referencing here. With that in mind, can you drill a hole or holes through the chassis just below the gas cap to allow water to escape?

Causes overheating I have a 2004 1800 petrol freelander. Water is boiling over in the header thank, I have replaced the header cap and thermostat but still boiling over when driven, not during idling.

Tis is the K18 engine same as K16. It is the twin camshaft petrol engine where the engine is a fully aluminium and very sensitive to temperature.surely the problem you have is the compression gasket. Now you must be very carefull on trying to fix it. You need a good machinery job to check very well the cylinder head and also the cylinder block because the piston liners are replaceable and depends to the overheating removed from the proper position fitted. If everything is correct and by skimming the cylinder head problem will get solved, must buy the new three leaf metal gasket kit and all new cylinder head bolts.

I have a cast iron portable twin gas ring burner that is not functioning very well. I aim looking for instruction on how to diagnose problem solve and then put right this challenge. Please help

Without knowing the brand of grill you have and the model number, it's impossible to provide you with an Owners Manual. However, most burner problems are related to a need for cleaning and/or the gas regulator may be partially locked up. In which case, turning the tank valve OFF, disconnecting the hose from the tank and waiting 5 minutes before reconnecting, will generally solve the problem. But, only if you turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY Slowly (Slow motion, slow).

If after you have completed the above and you're still having problems and need an Owner's Manual, please furnish the Brand & Model Number. Thanks.....

I cant get any petrol to pump into the mantles

If the petrol doesn't come through first check that you have enough in the tank. If the tank is not full enough it won't come through. If it still fails to come through it's likely that the generator is blocked. This is the tube which the mantle sits on and it has a very narrow opening to force the petrol to convert to vapour when it's warm. Try heating it for a while and it may clear it. Otherwise you'll need to buy a new generator.

Note: while the dual fuel lanterns can burn petrol you should be aware that it gives off poisonous fumes, like cars did before they had catalytic converters. The lantern should not be used indoors with petrol. They are safe with coleman fuel. If you live in the USA, Coleman fuel is cheap but if you're in Europe it's much too expensive. Rather than buying a new generator, if you live in Europe, you could buy a parafin burning lantern like the Petromax 500 available from http://www.pelam.de/index.php?cPath=28_31&language=en&gclid=CIOe46DQnqYCFQkf4QodQxz2Zg
and other sites, or you can pick up second hand Optimus lanterns on Ebay. Both burn parafin, though they need to be primed, and provide at least as much light as the Coleman.

I have double cylinder fecility of Indane LPG gas. Now I have shifted to a house fitted with Adani gas pipe which I am not using as I am staying on rent and don't want to loose my cylinder membership. I...

As far as I can see it, if you want to use your cylinder gas then you will have to collect it yourself if there is no company in your area that sells LPG. To use pipes gas you will have to change the burner mixture setting on your cooker otherwise is may not burn properly.
Stupid rules I know.

Could you please tell me what error codes 21 and 6 relate to on a Winterhalter GS502 dishwasher. Many thanks. Barry CER

error 6 relates to a blocked drain pump. if the drain pump is working ok check if the tank level sensor is operating or if the air chamber in the wash tank is blocked.
error 21 relates to the drain pump being activated. normally related to error 6.
also check water inlet solenoid valve is working correctly. ie not blocked or passing.
all parts of the machine can be activated manually by entering service mode.
when machine is off press service button or switch on main pcb.
p00 appears. press and hold main wash button. --- appears. using the long and short wash buttons you can scroll through parts of the machine. displayed as a01 a02 a03 etc.drain pump is a12 solenoid valve is a13. these are activated by pressing the button. when activating the drain pump the display will count down. this number is the water level in the wash tank. if it's counting down the level sensor is ok.
hope this helps

Black soot on Coleman propane burner

Had same problem. Coleman tech support said, " clean with pipe cleaners". No directions....I would think they would provide a step by step protocol. So, I chose to take the knobs off and use the pipe cleaner where I could. I was able to take one of the two burner control knobs apart. After sticking the clean in every nook I could find, I put back together, and the flame on that burner is back to normal,

Good Luck--Daryl in Burnsville, MN
