if you look on the side by the memory card slot theres a pull down/up button to use flash it has to be on the bottom one the 1.5m and over thing i just worked it out after trying for days and even contacting vivtar themselves who apparantly dont know what a vivicam 7020 is!!
1. you need to format your new usb flash disk
2. just insert it to a usb port and it will automatically open the the flash disk or you can go to my computer it will display there the flash disk drive
The flash automatically pops up and strobes when the surrounding are dark. If it does not flash, make sure that you have selected the flash mode you want. If it is still not working, take it in for a service. If it is still under warranty, they will fix it for free.

are you sure you dont have any 3rd party software installed on your usb, or on the computer itself, like a flash usb manager or somthinge close to it?

hi, even i have the same problem, probably i don't think the flash doesn't work, but even i didn't know how to use it. however, the instruction manual says there are 3 options in flash, they are auto- that is it turns flash automatically on when it turns on.
red eye reduction that is it says it will flash twice to reduce red eye but i never see the flash on and the flash off, that is it will not turn on and usually whenever you exit the camera the flash will default to turn off mode. you will need to switch the flash back. hope you understand.
Try any other computer but not open drive only see if they can read it. Also change USB port, sometimes some ports dont accept devices. Also check for latest antivirus software last such case viruses dont let me read any of my USB drives. If driver works to oter PC then you have virus.
If the automatic flash settings detection is on where possibly isn't dark enough.. Try to go into a completely dark room and see if it works.. If it still dont work try and check the camera settings..
Assuming that you haven't put the camera into a mode in which flash is disabled, either the charging capacitor or flash bulb is defective. It will have to be serviced so the appropriate part can be replaced.
I have the same problem as Irichard, in that the flash won't pop up automatically, the camera wont work when you pop it up manually all all modes that allow flash photography do not work.
