If the lines look like little steps, maybe broken is segments off by about the thickness of a pencil line, try this. Most likely it's the scanner. You can try calabrating it by doing the following. press in order. Menu #1934. You will see a T pop up to the right side of "Ready to Copy". Then press machine status, then scroll until you find maintenance. May be under system settings. When you find maintenance, press enter, then scroll to Shading Adjustment. Or depending on software version, Adjust shading. Place 5 sheets of paper on the glass,, press enter, then when is says "Adjust Shading?" press enter again. Let it print out the sheet. Then try a copy. If that doesn't help, the scanner itself will probably need replacing.
The scanner is the issue. The segments of what is called the CCD are not working properly.
Once you adjust shading, if that doesn't work, the scanner will need to be replaced.

Yeah, since you upgraded the softare and it didn't help, the scanner head will need to be replaced. There is a small circuit board on the scanner called the CCD. It has segments on it where it detects the light levels and converts it into a digital signal for the main board.

What happens is those segments report individually and the board does not intrepert them correctly and each segment prints out a little off. The ofset lines are each different segment lining up in properly.

But a new scan head is what it needs to sliminate that issue 100 percent.

If you did just buy it, it will be in warranty and should be replaced free of charge. If its in the last 90 days, it is covered.

Absolutely. That's not an unusual problem on that product.

Call who you purchased it from and report the problem. if the warrenty information has been correctly added, you can call Xerox and they will make it right.

Use your warranty to get it fixed, that product can and will produce an outstanding copy.

By replaced, I mean the scanner should be replaced. The machine should be fixed and up to your expectataions.

Your welcome, I have seen that problem specifically on that product. Pursue it, don't leave it alone. They will make it right for you.

You do have a very good product there. Get it working for you the way it should.

    Good luck,

What is excel

Hi,

Microsoft Excel is a commercial spreadsheet application . It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications.
Microsoft Excel has the basic features of all spreadsheets, using a grid of cells arranged in numbered rows and letter-named columns to organize data manipulations like arithmetic operations. It has a battery of supplied functions to answer statistical, engineering and financial needs. In addition, it can display data as line graphs, histograms and charts, and with a very limited three-dimensional graphical display.

Shrey

I've forgotten how to transfer spreadsheets from my computer to my flash drive (been a long time since I used it!) Probably need a new one for more space - how can I tell?

right click on the drive select properties will tell you how much free space is on your drive
click start all programs open windows explorer navigate to the spreadsheets the select the spreadsheets right click copy and then paste them into your cruzer usb or select all spreadsheets click and hold the cursor and drag and drop them into cruzer or right click and select send to cruzer
hope this helps

Not Enough Memory to run Microsoft Office Excel. Please close other Applications and try again..

Excel running on a 32 bit PC and using a 32 bit operating system can only address 2 Gb of RAM. If your machine has a 64 bit processor (these were being shipped over 5 years ago) it will be possible to install a 64 bit operating system such as Windows XP 64 bit or Windows 7 64 bit. It has been claimed that an Excel 2010 spreadsheet, running on a 64 bit machine and using Windows 7 64 bit, was able to load and use a database with 100 million records.

If you are unable to do this then I suggest that you examine what your machine is running at the same time as your spreadsheet and if any part of the spreadsheet can be off-loaded. By the latter I mean can any of it transferred to another Excel file?

Are you using any links on your spreadsheet, if so can the links be converted into data, e.g. a link to a lookuptable could be converted to data (copy, paste-special, value) and this remove a significant amount of processing load.

Excel Spreadsheet

It could have a virus or simply too much data in it or too much data linked to it. Try doing a copy of the whole spreadsheet, and then paste the data into a new spreadsheet. If it doesn't contain too many different formulas, try pasting only the values, and then replace the formulas manually. You might also try just deleting the links, if there are any. If this doesn't solve it, reply to this thread and let us know.

Hope this will FixYa!!!

Consolidate few sheets under 1 excel

What version of Excel are you working with. Newer versions allow you to have multiple spreadsheets grouped together into what is called a, "Workbook." To view the sheets separately, you simply click on the tabs at the bottom of the workbook. The easiest way I know of to join spreadsheets together into a single workbook is to open all of them at the same time, then choose, "View / Arrange All," and they'll be small, but you can grab each one by its tab and drag it to the workbook you want them in. Then you save the workbook (give it a new name like, "Accounting Roll-UP," or, "Consolidated Books," or whatever best describes it) making sure to close all the (now empty) spreadsheets without saving your changes to them (or else you'll lose your 'back-up' data). Voila! You open one file, and all your spreadsheets are available with the click of a mouse.
