GE Spectra Oven won't heat

I have a GE Spectra oven model JGBP35BEA7BB. The problem is the oven won't heat. I set the temperature and hit start, but nothing happens (no sounds, no flame from the oven, digital reads 100). The broiler works still works, though. This is the 2nd time in 4 years this has happened. The first time we had a technician repair it for a couple hundred dollars. I am looking to avoid this costly repair and fix it myself if possible, but need assistance. Thanks!

Why t takes long time for oven to heat up?

Does the oven actually heat up with the temperature more than 100 or does it just stay at 100? Alternatively, when you open the oven can you see the orange glow of the flame through the vents in the bottom of the oven and hear the gas hissing?

GE gas oven spectra xl44 takes forever to preheat &sometimes will not

The way the oven works is like so:
1) User sets the desired temperature
2) Power is sent to the ignitor
3) The ignitor is then energized, drawing 3.2 amps of current
4) When the 3.2 amps is drawn, the gas safety valve is allowed to open and gas flows into the burner assembly in the oven.
5) This gas is then ignited, causing the oven to heat.
6) As the oven heats up, the oven sensor, which is the metal rod located at the top on the rear oven wall, converts the heat into an electrical signal, relaying this information to the main control which in turns displaying the temperature.
(In models with a dial thermostat, there won't be a sensor, though a metal wire with a bulbous end will be present, which is actually connected to the thermostat.)
Will all that said, more than likely the ignitor is bad in the oven, not drawing enough amperage to allow the safety valve to open. Even though the ignitor is lighting up and glowing, I'm 99% certain that this is the problem. Here is the part number for ignitor. WB2X9154 and can be ordered from any parts distributor or from a local supplier.

Ge profile oven lock button won't go off

  • 1.Press the "Clear/Off" button on the control panel to reset the oven. This will clear the lock setting and unlock the door.

2.Allow the oven to cool to room temperature to avoid turning the lock on again during this heating cycle.

3.Reset the oven to the temperature you require to finish cooking by pressing the correct temperature control on the control pad.

    or

  • 1.If your GE Profile microwave won't turn on, unplug it, then plug it back in. A power outage may have occurred due to a power surge. Check your home's fuses and circuit breakers.

2.Set the clock of your GE Profile microwave. Certain models will not operate until you set the clock. Select the "Clock" key and type in the correct time.

  • 3.Hold down your microwave's "Off" button. You may have accidentally hit the control-lock feature on your GE Profile microwave. Hold down the "Off" button for three seconds to turn the lock off.

  • 4.If the sensors of your GE Profile microwave are not working correctly, remove the food from the machine. If the sensors detect food-surface temperatures over 200 degrees Fahrenheit, it will not work properly until the area cools down.

  • 5.Contact GE Support if you are unable to resolve the issue on your own. Call the GE Support hotline or browse the help library on the GE website. You can also schedule a service visit on GE's website.
