Hello

This may be long but I think its true Ok please read.
Yes it will do and why.
It cleans the heads every time you switch on and also prints out a test page so you can see it printing ok but you are going to loss lots of ink its made to do this, so it will use your ink up fast this is how they make there money not just by selling printers, it’s the after sales of selling there inks that they make there big money.

In some supermarkets you can even buy a printer for as little as £20 and most of us will think that’s cheap and will buy it, yes there will be ink in it but very little ink and when you go to buy some new ink for it your mouth will drop it will be around £15.99 for the black and £19.99 for the colour then you will think god that is £38.98 and is more than you paid for your printer in the first place, and some inks cost lots even more than that, so then we will say oh well I got to have to buy it or the new printer will not be any use.

They make more money on selling there inks, and inks are not cheap, so in a matter of time we all would have paid lots of money just for the ink.

Also every time it cleans the heads and makes a test print, have you ever thought where the left over ink is going it’s going onto a pad to absolve the waste ink inside your printer.

Think about it, it’s got to go some where and where does the waste ink goes it is screwed down inside your printer and when that ink pad is full the printer is going to gave you an error code number or it will say (waste pad full) and your printer will stop working, and they have not done it in any easy way for us to clean the pads out, the printer got to be opened up all with the screwdriver and also have to take some wires off inside and some printers not even got screws on them so it can not be opened so most of us will just buy a new one again.
I really not know why they not just make a flip lid on the printers so we can open and clean the pads out or replace them, but saying that then of cause they would lose out.
Mind you not all printers are like this but most printers are, and we all like to own a printer.

So next time you going to buy a printer try not to be in a hurry and ask them how much the ink going to cost you when it runs out and ask them if it dos a test print out every time it starts up and ask them about if and when the pads are full of waste ink is there a flip lid on it so you can open so you can clean the pads out or replace them I not think there will be any or any pads you can buy to replace, and I not think that they can gave you that answer there isn’t any they will tell you it will have a instructions book inside that tells you all need to know.

Yes I got a printer and I have learnt my lessons on buying printers so now I do look at them as much as I can before buying and see how much ink will cost me and yes it has a pad inside mine screwed down I have not seen one yet myself with a lid on them I think this is how they all are so we got to put up with it.

What I do I never turn off my printer so it will not do a test print every time it starts up, I always lave it on standby I find its cheaper it lasts longer and if I need to clean the heads from time to time I can clean the heads manually from the tools tab witch is in the driver when I go to print my docs.

I don't want test copies made everytime I turn my printer on.

Follow the directions thoroughly when printing the test page.

The test page will print every time when there are ink cartridge/alignment issues such as an empty cartridge.

Hi, Wonder can you help my printer keeps printing off test page everytime it is turned on. this is only happening since i changed the cartridge, never did this before. thanks

Hi,

Your printer is printing alignment pages, because the cartridge alignment was not completed since you replaced them. Follow the below steps to complete alignment.

  1. Turn the printer OFF and then turn back ON.
  2. Wait until the alignment sheet prints out fully.
  3. Place the alignment test page over the scanner glass.
  4. Press start color scan button.
  5. The printer "power" light will start flashing, indication the alignment process.
  6. After the printer stops flashing, turn off and then ON the printer. It will not print any test pages further.
We need to run alignment test every-time while we replace ink cartridges.

The printer prints a test page everytime i turn the printer on

I had the same problem and it was driving me crazy until I did this. Please follow exactly and IN ORDER.

1. Turn off the printer and wait 10 seconds. Turn it on again

2. Let the printer print the test page.

3. After the test page is printed, disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer. DO NOT turn off the printer while disconnecting the USB cable.

4. Place the test page on the scanner glass and press the SCAN button on the printer. The ON light will flash as the page is being scanned.

5. Remove the test page when the ON light is steady.

6. Finally, turn off the printer and wait another 10 seconds. Then turn it on again. No more printing test pages!

(You may now reconnect the printer to your computer via the USB cable.)

Try this:
  • Open HP Director
  • On the main window select Settings>Print Settings>Printer Toolbox
  • Open the Configuration Tab
  • At bottom right click "Factory Settings" button then "Apply"
A configuration warning popped up explaining that would be changing settings used by the driver. Click ok.

In starting 1 page print

Hi,

I believe that after changing the ink cartridge you havent completed the alignment process. This Alignment test page will print everytime you turn the printer ON.To Complete the alignment follow my steps.

1.After turning the printer ON, wait untill the printer prints the Alignment test page.

2.Then place the alignment test paper on the scanner, facing down in a correct position.

3.Then press the Scan button(color) and wait untill the printer ON light stops flashing.

4.After the light stops flashing, take the paper out and the alignment process is completed.

Turn OFF and turn On the printer, it will not print the Test page again.try it and please let me know.Would really appreciate your rating for my solution.

Thanks
