My Sony Blu-ray DVD player isn't working with my LG HD TV

Hi I have a Sony Blu-ray/DVD player here and I've tried to connect it to my LG HD TV and it won't work. At first I thought it was the HDMI cable but I went out and bought a really good one and it still won't work. When I plug it up and turn the TV and player on the welsome screen come up for a few seconds then the screen goes wonky and the signal goes in and out. Oh also the new HDMI cable is Sony as well. Any ideas what might be wrong?

I also have a sony blu-ray player and Lg tv that I've used together for a couple years now but the other day when I turned on the blu-ray I just got a black screen first I thought blu-ray was broken so I went and bought anew one that one would start with it's logo then go to black screen, then Iwas suspicious oh and previously I had checked all my hdmi plugs with my directv reciever and watched tv on all 3 no prob. I then pugged my blu-ray in to my bedroom tv a Vizio it worked fine so I reset the blu-ray to factory just in case my kid messed with something now back to my living room tv the Sony logo pops up I think awesome it's fixed... nope goes right to black screen with a green line flash occasionaly. Anyways sounds like we might have a similar problem hope someone out there knows a solution.

Also I made sure the output was set to 1080p hdmi setting as I was told by LG customer service was probably the problem I've also tried the auto setting which I think it's been on for the last couple years.

which is the HDMI version on satellite? maybe a old model. Sony has some particular specs.

1080p playback requires HDMI connector (sold separately) and

compatible HDTV with 1080p display capability, and 24p True Cinema

requires 24p-capable HDTV. Certain circumstances may

limit/prevent Blu-ray Disc media playback. Upscaled image quality

    will vary.

I also have a 47" LG flat screen and just bought the Sony 2100 Blu-Ray player and it will not work on my tv. I called Sony, they had no clue, told me I had to pay to ship it back to them and they would look at it. I said HELLO...if its not compatible with LG TV's then thats the problem right there and you need to make this right. Why would Sony produce a product that isnt compatible with a well known and sold brand?? Not to mention when I shipped it back to them and called they said...OH we don't have that model in stock anymore (because they were suppose to be shipping me out another one as soon as they got mine). SMH I guess I just bought a player for the hell of it and wanted to have it floating in shipping land, specially during the holidays. CUTE

How do I hook-up Netflix through a Sony Blu-Ray player and a LG television

If your Sony Blu-Ray player and LG TV are recent models, each should have an HDMI cable connection. HDMI is an method to connect your digital video and audio devices with just a single combined cable. In the case of your LG TV, using an HDMI cable will allow you to send the HD video signal to your TV's screen, and allow you to hear the sound through the TV's speakers.
Your LG TV may have multiple HDMI connectors, to allow other devices to send signals to your TV, such as a cable box or satellite box or digital video recorder (DVR). Your Sony Blu-Ray player will usually have just a single HDMI connector.
Purchase an HDMI cable from your local electronics store. There are different versions of the HDMI specification, and you should get a cable that you can verify is certified for the HDMI version 1.4 specification.
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the Blu-Ray player, and the other end into one of the HDMI connectors on the TV, noting which one you selected.
When you turn on your Sony Blu-Ray and your LG TV, you should use the remote for the LG TV to select the input source. Your LG remote should allow you to select the HDMI input connector you used, at which point you should see the display of a DVD playing on the Blu-Ray player. If you cannot hear the sound, use the LG remote to increase the TV volume.

Won't play hd dvd

Blu-Ray will never play HD-DVD's, and HD-DVD's will never play Blu-Ray - they are competing technologies. Sorry.
