A couple of weeks ago I addressed the FixYa team because of my full inktank. I got an excellent description of how I should go about to reset the counter. Everythink worked out swell but my joy lasted for about 3 days. Suddenly the magenta started printing in thin, almost non-existent threadlike lines across the paper. I have cleaned the printhead and cartridges daily with Power-Klin inkjet service liquid for weeks now, with no improvement. Strangely, the exact thing happened with my former printer: Smartbase MP360. I wonder if Canon produces their Smartbase printers with an inbuilt self-destruction device which is triggered once the inktank gets filled!?! What can I do except continue cleaning? I have tried altering the settings from auto to manual, setting magenta at maximum, but nothing changes. Can you help me? Regards from Nikitha8
I'm sorry you got that advice to reset your counter, your joy will be gone again when the ink starts leaking out of your printer and the more you clean the more ink will go to the already full absorber. Your paper advance will stop first when ink covers the encoder wheel for the main roller drive. The best you should do now is to have the ink absorber replaced, and get a new printhead to resolve your printing problems. If you really like this printer you should spend a few bucks to fix it right and keep it working much longer...
