Printing a mirror image

I can't seem to find a way to mirror an image when printing a tee shirt iron-on transfer. Usually there is an option in printer properties to flip image or mirror the image.

The Canon IP5000 flips the image automatically when you select Properties, Media Type/T-Shirt Transfer from the print dialog box. There is no specific selection to flip or mirror the image, but select T-Shirt Transfer and it will flip it for you.

I called a Canon rep and the printer does not have that option on it.

  • Anonymous Jan 02, 2012

I just printed a reversed word with my Canon IP4500, by selecting 'T Shirt Transfers' under Printer Options. It prints the word reversed, but note that if you do a Print Preview before you print that the word will view as non-reversed. So the bottom-line is you can do it just by selecting the right kind of paper under Properties, then Media Type, by selecting T Shirt Transfers. Of course, the stupid Canon rep should have been able to tell you that.

Click on the image and copy and paste it. Take the pasted image and select Format and Flip image. You can then delete the first image and keep the new mirrored image.

I hope this works for you.

How do I print my picture on to a tee shirt? 03384. My iron now has the picture stuck to the bottom.

Sounds like the iron-on was "facing up", for the image to be correct it must be printed "back wards". Before clicking "print", You need to "select paper" in printer software and choose "Iron on" OR mirror the image in the photo software. Then make sure the SHINNY SIDE IS DOWN!

How do I do mirror (or reverse) printing for a t-shirt transfer? Thanks.

If you are printing text only, you can create it using wordart in word and then use rotate or flip command to reverse the text.
If you are printing a JPG with text, the easiest way will be to use photoshop to edit the image and add text if desired, then use the mirror utility, The picture and text get reversed and the transfer is printed in reverse to become "positive" when you iron it on the Tshirt.

hope this helps.

Prints backwards

Hello,

You have probably turned on the "Mirror Image" option.

When you go to print and the Print window comes up, select Preferences and then the Advanced tab. Look for the Mirror Image option and Disable it by clicking on the underlined option and change it.

(BTW, the Mirror Image is used to print iron-on images for t-shirts, etc.)

NOTE: If you don't see it on the Advanced tab, look on the Effects tab.

Printing letters from the computer to a iron on

You don't. Once you have completed your design including the text as it should read when the T Shirt is finished you go to print the design. When the printer dialogue appears then you Click Preferences, Properties, Options, or Setup (depending on the program or operating system) then choose the paper type as the T-Shirt Transfer option if you have one setup so that the print image will automatically be reversed when printed, or you choose an option to flip the image horizontally, or print reverse.

Setting up printer for reverse/mirror printing

I used to use iron on transfers all the time for different things. The setting is usually available whan you attempt to print the image you have different options in properties. Under the advanced tab in printer properties there is something called media type. You can set this to iron on transfer. To locate printer properties in XP for example go to Start>Control Panel>printers>view all printers right click on the printer you intend to use and select properties.
