I have a polaroid lcd tv, model is 2611-TLXB. SUddenly it won't turn on. what can I do?

I have a Polaroid 26"

Sounds like your fiddling may have shorted out the main board of the TV.

Not to say that this wouldn't have happened eventually, there's a good possibility it was defective from the start.

If you have warranty, try to go through that, you should be covered. Otherwise, for a 26 inch, most likely not worth repairing, good luck!

Polaroid 26inch lcd tvred standby light on but power wont turn on. I've unplugged the tv, changed the batteries in the remote. The tv stays with the red standby light only.

You need to open it up and checking the voltages in the power supply sections, you should have 5v (for logic circuits), 12v for sound, 24v for backlight inverter circuits. Look for bad caps with bulging tops in power supply also.

Stand by light is on but won't turn on

something in the tv is blown try unplugging it for 30 min then try again
